Back for good
I joined up around the same time last year ready to change. I wanted (and, of course, stil do) want to be the healthy role model for my two kids, but changing my body really has to do with me, JUST ME. I'm under the influence of a few very good things: Tosca Reno's books (particularly "Your Best Body Now" AND "The Eat-Clean Diet"; the collector's issue Oxygen magazine "Off the Couch!" I joined up around the same time last year ready to change. I wanted (and, of course, stil do) want to be the healthy role model for my two kids, but changing my body really has to do with me, JUST ME. I'm under the influence of a few very good things: Tosca Reno's books (particularly "Your Best Body Now" AND "The Eat-Clean Diet"; the collector's issue Oxygen magazine "Off the Couch!" Fall 2010 edition, with a little Dr. Roizen's "You on a Diet" thrown in. Perhaps, most influential, a long banner of graph paper on the wall above my bathroom scale that I chart my weight on every morning, before breakfast, in my pj's. I've been working out 5 days a week, usually only about 15 minutes, for the past three weeks, and the most significant benefits so far are that I just feel better, and I'm so happy I've stuck with my plan this long! The workouts (resistance training alternating days with ab exercises) are challenging but not so that they're off-putting. I have actually started taking a LOT of supplements, and I know that the best source of nutrients/minerals/vitamins/etc. is food, BUT I feel like these supplements really are just that- supplementing my diet. Everyday, I take green tea extract, gingko biloba, resveratrol, alpha-lipoic acid, coQ10, and a b-complex (with C). No, I don't take a multi on top of that! I spread them out in two doses, and always have them wuth a meal and water. I'm really excited about my progress, and I feel like THIS YEAR WILL BE THE ONE. I'm going to get strong, fit and energized :))))))))))) JAN 21 UPDATE: -I'm now working out 6-7 days a week, gradually adding new moves to my workouts and making each workout session longer -Now fitting comfortably in used-to-be-too-tight pants -No more mid-day slumps, energy levels are higher every day!
