I'm a busy teacher at both the high school and college levels. I've been doing it quite awhile now, so it's my passion. Unfortunately, the job carries its drawbacks, not the least of which is a ton of stress, mental fatigue and, you guessed it, resulting weight gain! I'm on SP to do something about it!

I love reading, listening to music, cycling, playing pool and occasionally, going to the symphony, ballet and/or theater.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. This is truly a new journey for me- I've never been so public about my struggle, so having this immediate encouragement and support is really great! Thank you! :)

i IMIN2GENES: Thanks for your comment. Well, cooking for the week really isn't that great a challenge if you're prepared to do it. It involves the following elements: 1) knowing what you're going to eat at every meal for the coming week; 2) having the food on hand; 3) getting some plastic bags and wraps.

On Saturday morning, I review the menu for the coming week, then go to the food store and buy everything I need. On Sunday morning, I get up at 6AM and do the job -- takes only an hour-and-a-half or so and viola -- you're done for the week. Then it's just "grab and go" on Monday morning. That's the basic concept. It's certainly not a new concept but it's a good one.

I'm going to write that blog -- I may just put it here on SP. I think it would do more good here than elsewhere. Keep watching -- I'll let you know.

Hi Prof Bob! I've added you as a friend, I hope you don't mind. I'm a busy working mom/scientist and cooking is always a challenge for me. I'd definitely be interested in your blog and learning more about your methods of batch cooking for the week. Looking forward to getting to know you! Good luck with your journey!
Chris

Welcome Prof Bob! Although I've met some really nice Sparkers, it is so good to see someone I actually know here. Plus, you have reminded me to start sparking again. I hope you enjoy it here! Good luck on your goals!
