Grumpy isn't the word. Lots of depressed and morose people in these parts this time of year. The upside is that it's warm, so with a good raincoat a person can get outside all winter and not freeze. :)
I can imagine that you don't welcome snow or ice, because I don't like them either. I'm in Oregon, which is notorious for its rainfall, but the part of it that I live in gets an average of 86 inches of rain per year, and often up to 109. That's a lot of water falling out of the sky, and when it starts this time of year, chances are real good that it's not going to stop again for months. When fall comes with its beautiful colored leaves and cooler temps and everyone I know is raving about how they love autumn, I'm grumpy because I know it's going to rain...soon...and might not quit until late spring. It's a wonder I'm not a winter drinker - that's very common in these parts, a self-inflicted form of hibernation.
Anyway, here's to a mild winter - may we only have one. Cheers! (Raising a glass of orange juice for its cold-fighting vitamin C)
