Hi, I'm Ravi. I've been struggling with weight loss and keeping it off since before I can remember. I was able to shed a lot of weight the summer before my junior year of high school by (I think) doing a lot of exercise and becoming a vegetarian. However, I don't remember. My junior year of high school, I took on swim team which helped for me to keep off the weight. However, the weight slowly came back and I am at my peak weight now.

Reading the Spark made me realize that I was yo-yo dieting and not changing my lifestyle habits and that is why the weight wasn't kept off.

So this time I'm trying to change my habits.

My Goals:
I would like to lose about 70 pounds as a long term goal. However, right now my goal is to lose 25 pounds by April of next year. I also would like to eventually run a 5k in 30 minutes.


My Program:
To meet my goal, I am tracking calories, drinking 8 glasses of water every day, doing fast break goals of 2 vegetables and 2 fruist every day, and meditation daily. I usually walk about an hour 3x/week on my off days and have a busy-on-my-feet job, however this hasn't been enough for me and my goal is to increase my activity to fast-intensity and 1 cardio/stretching class (ex: yoga) per week.

Other Information:
My favorite books change everytime I read a new book, but I am currently reading " No One Can Pronounce by Name" by Rakesh Satyal. However "Physics of the Future" has been one of my favorites.

My favorite movies are Happy: A Documentary, Mean Girls, How To Be Single, Easy A, and Amilee.
