**UPDATE**
I've been on SparkPeople for a little over a month now. Before joining, I had dropped about 5 pounds. Since joining, I've dropped an additional 10. Along the way I've found that my goals have changed. Initially it was about reaching 150 pounds (I'm halfway there). Now it's about being the very best I can be.

I've come to realize that I've spent my whole life telling myself what my body can't do: I'm not a runner, I'm not fast, I'm not an athlete, I'm not a supermodel. My attitude has changed. I'm here to find out just what I CAN do. I want to push myself to be in the best physical shape I can be.

I was loathe to include a photograph of myself. I uploaded one today that is three years old, but it's at the weight I am now. I no longer care who is watching. I will run the bleachers at the school, I will run the track. Just because I'm the only 35-year-old mom doing it, doesn't mean I shouldn't.

I'm bound for fabulousness. Are you?

It's the start of a new month and I'm ready to kick it into high gear. I have a social event on June 8 and I want to be able to knock 'em dead. I'm using this space to log my workouts from May 1 to June 8. The goal is to drop 10 pounds in the next 5 weeks. Feel free to join me in my personal challenge.

I'm going to continue to log my workouts, but I thought I'd pause to write down my goals.
1. Weight. My goal weight is currently 147. I'm having trouble with the last 7 pounds — mainly due to complacency, barbecues, and an upcoming vacation.
2. Pull-ups. I've never done one and really want to. A few years ago I set a goal of being able to do military-style push-ups, and they're no problem for me now.
3. Push-ups. I want to be able to do 10 push-ups with the Perfect Push-up things. Right now I can only do 2.

My Goals:
It's time to get this done. I want to lose 26 pounds before my upcoming 10th anniversary.

My Program:
I've always worked out, but I'm doing so now with a goal in mind. I've never been a fan of logging what I eat, but I am currently doing that to keep my honest. It's helping me stay accountable.

**UPDATE** 4/30/08
On 4/28/08 I began Jillian Michael's Shred program. I couple it with either a bout of cardio or an upper- or lower-body segment from The Firm's Body Sculpt. Throughout Workout 1, Jillian keeps saying, "don't phone this in" and that resonates with me. I'm going to give it my all. I'm going to make every second I'm working out count. I also do cardio workouts several times a week: either elliptical machine or walking/jogging the school track. I also run bleachers.
