Hello. I have always been overweight and I am still struggling to lose it. My mobility is limited due to osteoarthritis in both knees and the back which limits the types of exercise I can do. I am eating healthier since starting on Sparkpeople. I am gradually making progress-but it is a slow process. Recovery from back surgery has me concentrating on endurance and exercise and a higher protein diet.

Diabetic-type diet (I am not diabetic at this time) with high protein, lower carbs-multiple small meals per day.
Trying to increase movement gradually-mostly walking, eventually water aerobics


Personal Information:
My name is Diana and I grew up on a farm in Indiana. I moved to Indianapolis after college (the first time). I am 55, single and have two cats who are spoiled. I am a melanoma cancer survivor. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and my back. I have been overweight since grade school and the toll is hurting my health. I need to lose the weight to keep my mobility.

Diana, it was great to hear from you! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that things begin looking up for you in a really big way soon! Just remember how remarkable a person you are... you are such a sweetheart! I hope you can make it to the July rally we're having in Fishers. It's July 20th.
