Fitness and well being are the effects of habits. I should know. I have lots of habits. Many of them are not particularly skillful. This takes time and patience and practice. I have plenty of time. Not too bad on patience. And the leisure to practice. Besides...this is fun.

Goal:
Lose 5 pounds.

My Program:
1. Eat in the Mediterranean style
2. Plan all meals and snacks and say No Choice to anything unplanned
3. Schedule shopping and meal prep. Be prepared. Make it a priority.
5. Eat sitting at the table.
6. Log fitness and track nutrients in Spark trackers
7. Use distractions to manage cravings.
8. Weigh every day
9. Read my list of reasons why I want to lose weight every day
10. Exercise every day

Personal Information:
I lost 30 pounds using Spark tools and kept most of it off though I never reached my desired goal. Recently I started to creep back up. So I looked up Cognitive Behavior and weight loss and up popped the "Beck Diet Solution". It is a perfect fit with the Spark tools and the Mediterranean plan. And I am having fun. Fun is very important to me. I live on Outer Cape Cod and part time in the hills of Western Massachusetts. I love being surrounded by natural beauty. I left a successful career protecting land and helping people appreciate and enjoy nature. Now my time is my own to pay attention to wellbeing and fitness when and how I wish. Luxury!

Other Information:
I love companion animals especially my current dog Lilly. My husband is plenty cool too and is supportive of my losing weight. I love the beach and my favorite exercise is swimming outdoors or walking on beautiful beaches with my pooch.

Keep it up! I finished "traditional" PT a couple of weeks ago. Dr. Mike is working with young Andrew, the trainer, to introduce new exercises to strengthen my back and to get the rest of me stronger

Hi Queen, thanks for the blog love. I am doing OK, thank you for asking, but I haven't had the time to read further in the Beck pink book. I am still using the tools I've learned thus far, just haven't had a chance to delve deeper. Mostly just due to work. It's also hard to spend as much time on Spark as I would like. I track everything using the phone app, but I really need time on the computer to read and comment on blogs and interact with the teams etc. I really should find a Beck coach too. Ah well, baby steps. Things are moving in the right direction, albeit slowly.

Hi, Mary! Thanks for stopping by. I'm doing fine, with Spark and Beck - tracking all food and exercise. I don't refer to beck much except try to follow the 'rules' - eating sitting down, etc., and I look at my 'reasons' once in a while. Just got back from walking Jake - and helping him lie down afterwards. At 14, he's slowing down with arthritis, but still will walk for hours a day! Gotta love him. As usual, our weather is the opposite of yours - unseasonably dry and hot today - in the 70's! We do need more rain & snow, tho - hope we get it back soon so we don't have another drought year. Hope you're keeping warm!!
