Fitness and well being are the effects of habits. I should know. I have lots of habits. Many of them are not particularly skillful. This takes time and patience and practice. I have plenty of time. Not too bad on patience. And the leisure to practice. Besides...this is fun.

My Goals:
Lose 5 pounds.
And then lose 5 pounds. And then lose 2 pounds. And then celebrate!

My Program:
1. Eat in the Mediterranean style
2. Plan all meals and snacks and say No Choice to anything unplanned
3. Schedule shopping and meal prep. Be prepared. Make it a priority.
5. Eat sitting at the table.
6. Log fitness and track nutrients in Spark trackers
7. Use distractions to manage cravings.
8. Weigh every day
9. Read my list of reasons why I want to lose weight every day
10. Exercise every day

Personal Information:
I lost 30 pounds using Spark tools and kept most of it off though I never reached my desired goal. Recently I started to creep back up. So I looked up Cognitive Behavior and weight loss and up popped the "Beck Diet Solution". It is a perfect fit with the Spark tools and the Mediterranean plan. And I am having fun. Fun is very important to me. I live on Outer Cape Cod and part time in the hills of Western Massachusetts. I love being surrounded by natural beauty. I left a successful career protecting land and helping people appreciate and enjoy nature. Now my time is my own to pay attention to wellbeing and fitness when and how I wish. Luxury!

Other Information:
I love companion animals especially my current dog Lilly. My husband is plenty cool too and is supportive of my losing weight. I love the beach and my favorite exercise is swimming outdoors or walking on beautiful beaches with my pooch.

I've tried to read Louise Penny at least four times . . . don't know why, just can't get into it. Same thing with Margaret Atwood . . . shameful I know.

So sorry you are feeling anxious.

I am not, in fact, a Louise Penny fan.

Had suggested the Gail Bowen series.

And am enjoying the Steve Burrows "birder murders.

But: kindest, gentlest writer for reducing anxiety? The Scottish Alexander McCall Smith: and in particular the Isabel Dalhousie series (beginning with Sunday Philosophy Club).Although the Scotland Street series is also marvellous!

You did mention that before and it seemed quite odd but then, once in a while there is something odd going on with SP. I just unfriended you and will re-friend you, of course... we'll see if that fixes it. Congrats on reaching Day 10!!

Been keeping an eye out for your updates!! Hope you have found your "groove" and are meeting with success. Cutting out sugar is a wise choice. I am not currently sugar-free but have cut out the fake stuff. From past experience, it is definitely a struggle for the first while - sugar is hiding every where - but it does get easier. I was doing quite well keeping my sugar intake low until I fairly recently started putting flavor in my morning coffee again. Oh no... that does not set my day up very well. So it's time NOT to re-purchase.

Stay strong and stay well. emoticon

Thanks for dropping by the blogs; trying to get my Beck groove on.. Don't know why I don't like her muscle analogy...
