Nothing beats making beautiful quilts!
My hobby is a sitting thing, and my job is sedentary too. I just had to take action, put in the effort, and get results that I could be proud of. I want to be healthy and strong with an enthusiasm for life that will take me anywhere I decide to go. I am happy, engaged in life and satisfied with the journey. Are we sharing this path together? Come along and let's encourage each other.
To become more healthy so I can enjoy life more. I'm swimming laps almost every day and getting stronger. Oh I just love summer I also walk and workout on the Wii and with weights. I'm sure there's benefit to all this over time : - )
I'm working out on the treadmill when the weather is cold and I swim when it's warm outside. I'm eating healthy and watching everything I eat pretty closely. I'm also planning on staying healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically for the long haul.
I live in the southeastern part of Washington state.
I'm married and have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren that I don't see enough of because they live so far that it's not easy to get together. I''m working on making a special quilt for each member of my family. It might be a life long goal. It's been going slow because I've been hand quilting almost everything, but I'm learning to machine quilt and one by one I'll get there!
I love to collect things. I currently have a collection of blue & white china plates of all sizes and shapes, a teddy bear collection, a thimble collection, a collection of Dicken's Village houses, a separate collection of quilt shops, and a small collection of antique sewing machines (treadle or otherwise). And of course the quilt collection. DH says it's too much, please say it isn't so LoL.
Secrets of Success
I don't know if you will get this or not. I haven't been on here for a long time, either. I have sad news. My husband suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on May 13. I have been so busy with accounts, and sorting, and thank yous. He was well known in the community and the outpouring has been tremendous. We were best friends, and I'm really going to miss him. :(

What sewing table did you end up ordering? I have wanted one too, but it isn't high on the priority list because I have a useable table that my dad made back in the 1990's.
I would love to see your tumbler quilt, that is one I have not done!
I did a blue and white quilt for my daughter Sarah when she was in high school, she still uses it on her bed and it always looks so fresh.
The pattern that I used is actaully for exercise shorts or capri pants. It is a McCall's M6360 and I used view A the shortest one.
I will post pictures once we get the proofs from the photographer!

Just 9 days until the wedding here! I am getting excited but also tired and ready for a few free days too. The bride is coming to town on Saturday and she will help with a lot of the last minute things to be done.
I hope all is well with you, I'm wondering what you are sewing now. I am shortening my little son's suit pants, the bridesmaid's dress, and finishing my own dress too.
Blessings to you!

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. In my introduction on my spark page I explain a bit of what has been going on here. But I know you have been through your own medical challenges this last year too. I had some pre-cancerous spots burned out of my right lung, and now I have a lung infection but I am feeling better. No more sharp pains when I breathe! I am in my sewing room as I type this making "cartwheel shorts", they are like bike shorts but in a skin color to wear under summer dresses. I have black and white, and the girls wanted some too. I have 2 done and 2 to go! I have not sewn in months because I have felt so poorly. I really have missed it. Love being back at the machine, and planning out projects!
Hope all is well with you, I look forward to seeing your newest projects too.

I am so sorry you have been through so much health wise. A back problem is so hard to live with. I know what it is to go through a lot of therapy. It is painful. In the same breath I can say it does help. Keep doing you exercises for your back. I do believe we will pull through anything, because we have the LORD to help us always!
