I'm 30, happily married, and very silly.

I work out literally every day. If this means working out in the rain and mud, I do it. If this means working out while I am sick, I do it. If this means working out while I am severely depressed, I do it. I used to make a lot of excuses until I realized that one excuse just leads to a landslide of more excuses. Now I don't have any excuses. I just do it. There have been some brutal days, days where I was totally off my game and just thinking about how much I wished it were over soon. But I did it.

And this has done something wonderful for me. It has given me something I can depend on. When everything else is going wrong in my life, I can always say, ''At least I made progress on my fitness goals.'' And the great thing is that what I'm really learning to depend on is myself. I'm learning to trust myself.

It took me a long time to really get it, but it suddenly occurred to me that health and fitness at this point in my life is literally a matter of life and death. Ever since I started taking it that seriously, and treating my overeating as an addiction, my life has changed dramatically. I've dropped 15 pounds so far but that isn't even the best part. I am so much stronger than I ever thought I could be.

When I first started really committing myself to fitness in December 2012, I was in a lot of pain. Back pain, knee pain, aches and pains, just too much pain for someone who is only 30. I asked a buddy for some input and he turned into my Fitness Coach. So now I have some real accountability and have support to get through the hardest times. I injured myself a lot at first but for the first time I'm learning how to work through injuries and setbacks. I have a lot less pain.

This is my benchmark workout. I do it every month or so for time to mark my progress:

-20 Sprinter Sprinters
-20 Sit Ups
-20 GR Push-Ups
-20 Jumping Jacks
-20 Front to back hops
-20 Side to side hops
-20 Kettle bell swings
-20 Front lunges
-20 back lunges
-20 clean & jerks

My Goals:
1. Do a pull up.
2. Do 25 push-ups without rest.
3. Do 100 push-ups in one day.
4.Go on a half-day hike.
5.Go on a full-day hike.
6.Go on an overnight hike.





My Program:
I am consuming between 1500 and 1800 calories a day, more or less.

I am eating clean, no processed food. I try to keep added sugar to less than 30g a day. Some days I am more successful than others!
