Rainbowchoc,

I have lost weight. I have said no to things, I have walked my dog at least twice a day. I haven't been perfect but I haven't beaten myself up for detours from the path.
From a place where I wore "unisex" coats in 3XL and wouldn't go to a pool I have a pink mac and have gone through four sizes of "cozzie" at my aquafit class.
From a BP reading (pre treatment) of 225/125 to 106/68 and from a fasting glucose which indicated type 2 diabetes to HbA1c of 5.
Something is going ...

Something is going right, and I'm happy with that!

My Goals:
To achieve a "healthy BMI"
To wear knee high leather boots in winter
To go to the doctors without being told the problems are weight related
To encourage other people without making them feel inadequate

My Program:
Based loosely on the 80s WW programme, protein with every meal, limited fats and carbs, unlimited veg and fruit. I don't eat dairy or nuts so will never be a vegetarian but have meat free days following overindulgence.
Drinking 2 litres of water a day has been an education

Personal Information:
Married to himself for 37 years. We have retired to Kent, UK and our son lives in America. We are always on the go, travel and visiting friends/family
.

Other Information:
A year of Sparking has created a self confidence I had hidden with bravado and fat for many years. I have learned it isn't too late to change and be renewed.

“The one thing all famous authors, world class athletes, business tycoons, singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.” Yet still, they began their journeys, Mike Dooley

“In the beginning, the price of giving great love is risking that it won't be returned. Until you understand, of course, that great love is always returned. With interest.” - Mike Dooley

“I do believe that the single most important thing I could ever share with you with regard to maximizing the health, harmony, and happiness in your life can be summed up in just two words: 'Love Yourself'” - Mike Dooley

Have a great weekend

Thanks, Sandra, for both your thoughtful letter and the Spark Goodie. You're right - nobody said it would be easy. Hang in there.

Thanks for your comments on my blogs. I'm not too bad today- no bruises apart from a bruised knuckle. Must have knocked it when I hit the floor. Apparently I've managed to turn zumba into a contact sport!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm going to wait on the ID picture until I reach 100 lbs lost. It's something to be excited about. :)
