Ready to Look and Feel Amazing!

My entire life I was thin and at times probably underweight but still healthy! When I join SparkPeople in October 2008 I was at my heaviest. I was 158 pounds. Being 5' 3.5" and 24 years old, I was overweight. I would look in the mirror and just cry because when I close my eyes and imagine myself, I always see myself thin. I want to get back to that! My entire life I was thin and at times probably underweight but still healthy! When I join SparkPeople in October 2008 I was at my heaviest. I was 158 pounds. Being 5' 3.5" and 24 years old, I was overweight. I would look in the mirror and just cry because when I close my eyes and imagine myself, I always see myself thin. I want to get back to that! I have a picture (which I am going to scan and print and keep in my gym bag and post here) from my senior trip in 2002. It is going to be my motivation! Now that I am 27 years old, I know that to have it in my mind that I need to weigh as much as I did in that picture (I was about 106 pounds when I was 18) is just insane! What I am going to take and use with that picture is the fact that you can see that my body is toned! My arms are toned, my legs are lean, and I had the making of an incredible 6 pack! That is going to be my motivation! And all of the SparkPeople friends I have made!

In October 2009 I had lost enough weight that I was within 4 pounds of my goal weight. From October to March, my weight had only fluctuated by 4 pounds! That's amazing given that I had quit smoking and survived Thanksgiving (deep fried turkey) and Christmas (14 pound prime rib). Unfortunately from the end of February to the end of March I gained almost 20 pounds and I have not been able to get rid of it yet. I found out that my parents were splitting up and my mom was moving out, my mom moved out, my dad found out the company he had worked for for almost 30 years was going out of business and he was going to be out of a job in June, my husband found out that he cannot give me children, my mom's friend turned into a boyfriend who turned into her live-boyfriend (between April and the end of May), and my dad 4 girlfriends. But I am trying!

I discovered Zumba in March 2010 and fell in love with it! So much so that as of July 31, 2010 I am a licensed Zumba Basic instructor and on April 17, 2011 I got my Zumba Gold license and I just registered to get my Zumba Toning license at the end of July!

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to quit with the emotional eating. I also need to make sure that I keep track of everything I eat and drink and I need to make sure that I am doing my weight training 3 days a week and I have no problem with cardio 5 - 6 days a week!

My Program:
Monday: 1 hr of Group Power and 45 mins of Zumba

Tuesday: 30 mins of Zumba Gold and 1hr of Group Kick

Wednesday: 30 mins of Zumba, 1 hr of Group Power, and 45 mins of Zumba

Thursday: 1hr of Zumba

Friday: 1 hr of Zumba (sometimes)

Saturday: 1hr of Group Kick, 1 hr of Group Power, and 1 hr of Zumba (all or some)

Personal Information:
I grew up south of Seattle. I graduated high school in 2002 and joined the Coast Guard a couple months later. I spent the next 5 years living in San Francisco, Honolulu, New Orleans, Elizabeth City, and Houston. I got a medical discharge in October 2007. I have been living in Oregon for 3 years and am in the process of getting a divorce. I am moving back to Washington towards the end of the summer to start my life over again.

Other Information:
I love the Harry Potter series and the Twilight Saga. I love to read period. I love music and writing poetry. I love horror movies and being scared. There's nothing like being surrounded by great friends, good BBQ, great music, and a huge bonfire!

Hey There, nice to meet a local "sparkie". I'm not sure about zumba -- a back fusion and recent ankle surgery has me moving again, but not anything that's high impact-- I doubt I'll ever be able to run again, which was how I always keep the weight off in my younger years. Do they have a low impact of Zumba? It certainly sounds fun. I am a big hiker. Have you ever been to the 1- saturday/month health walk events in our area? I thought I might give that a try in October.
