I am learning so much about my body and myself since joining sparkpeople. I have learned to listen to what it is saying. I have been dealing with a thyroid issue, but finally got a doctor that will listened to me and have started taking armour thyroid. I can not believe how much better I feel. I may not have the weight falling off of me, but I have learned to face challenges head on when they come to me. I will get in shape and I will be one of the fellow spark people that will be an inspiration to others one day, just watch my progress.
Update 7/27/09
3 weeks ago I started running. This has been a huge accomplishment for me because I suffer from knee pain, known as runners knee, but I have been doing physical therapy exercise and working thru the pain and I am not having hardly any trouble with it anymore. I am not able to run without walking yet but I am working on that. I am doing the Coach to 5K program, which gradually works you up week by week until you can run 3 miles without stopping. Since I have started running the weight is not falling off but I am loosing inches and the weight will eventually come off. Runners often see this happen when first starting.

Update 8/25/09 I STAND AMAZED
The reason I stand amazed is, it was about a year ago I sat in the doctor's office with knees about twice their size from unexplained swelling and extreme pain. I could barely walk much less think of running. I was told I probably had arthritis and was prescribed a drug that made me have to rely on blood test to make sure it was not destroying my liver. Well, I guess you know what I did with that medicine. Bye, Bye! I started using my exercise bike and continued to walk everyday, but there was more to me and I knew it. Down deep inside there was a runner that wanted to be released.

I have been with Sp for a year now! I can't believe it has been a year now. I am still learning. Balance is a problem with me...I either over do it or under do it, but I am learning so much about me thru this journey. I have learned my my weaknesses and my strengthens and as I get older this race is not getting any easier!

My Program:
I like to mix things up. Exercise can be fun! I bowl with the kids, play walleyball, volleyball and I love to walk. To keep things different and exciting, I check out exercise videos from the library, use them a week then check out a new one.

I am doing fine, Thanks for stopping by and asking. I hear lately have to make myself do that workout but still I feel good when I do. I can't wait to get my bike up and about. Needs to Not be so muddy. I live on a dirt road and for now have to contend with workout DVD's when I want to get out and run or bike. SOOOO ready for the Spring already! Take care, The weight has it's own time table for falling off. Just keep taking care of you and your knee. Jenny
