My name is Vanessa and I am 38 years old. Somehow in the last 5 years I have managed to "quietly" put on 20 pounds to my already 10 pound overweight self. I tried Weight watchers on line and drove myself crazy trying to figure out point values for food and finally found sparkpeople!! What a wonderful thing to find!!!

My Goals:
It's tough to actually sit down and write out my goals. I don't know if I have ever actually done this? (About time isn't it?)
My Goals:

#1 - Start & maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes good eating habits and a regular fitness routine

# 2 - Finish my designation!!

# 3 - Quit smoking!! It's been a monkey on my back for far too long!!
Quit Date : MAR 1st

# 4 - Emotional Housekeeping! Surrounding myself with positive people and not letting other peoples negativity affect my life choices!!

My Program:
I'm in my 10th week & I've lost 16 pounds . I seem to have a handle on food tracking, I've always loved to cook, I just need to be more aware of what/how much I was putting in my mouth!

Walking - I have developed a love for it! I download podcasts and music and just walk. I go after I put my son to bed (his Dad is home) and I feel so much more clear headed, like I can work out problems, make mental checklists or just zone out for an hour.

Personal Information:
I live in Innisfil, ON about 1 hour North of Toronto. I love it here. I was an army brat growing up so it feels nice to "lay roots"

I have been married for 9 years (together for 16) and we have a 5 year old son together. My son is the light of my life and a big driving force in my need to make healthy living the "norm", not just for myself but for all of us.

Other Information:
I LOVE to read!! .Biographies, Fiction, History, all of it! I love to cook, garden, swim, camping and getting together with friends. My most favourite thing is to hang out with my son Christian. He is a wonderful 5 year old that "sparks" so many thing in me :)
