Back to basics......

I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor who after chemo and radiation now has a mechanical heart valve. I have been on Femara for44 months and have 16 more months to go. I have not been able to lose any weight while on my medication. I have lost some inches, but got extremely discouraged. I have not gained either since my original gain so that is a blessing. I have been lax in participating on this site as I was not seeing any results. I know I have been eating healthier and since I am not ...
I know I have been eating healthier and since I am not gaining I must be doing somethings right. I have decided that I want to start again and see if I can reset my metabolism. I am working very hard to exclude all items containing High Fructose Corn Syrup. It is in everything. I am going to try to eat mainly whole foods. So it is back to basics for me. I have so many great friends on this site and am happy to reconnect. Wish me luck and perseverance. I am truly blessed.

Hi Gail,
Thanks for the kind words of condolence. Gene's 4th relapse/final cancer and death was fast. he wasn't feeling well in early Nov, was diagnosed just before Thanksgiving and died 10 days later at home with me just as he wanted. it's been very hard but I'm finally at a better place and able to focuse on to getting healthy and losing the weight so here i go again.....:O)
Hope you are well. Yesterday was my 3rd anniversary of being cancer free so I have alot to be thankful for --- as i know you do. Onward and upward. we may lose slower but as long as we keep plugging along, we'll get there. Stay in touch. Hugs~~ Ro
