It's time...

Hi everybody! My name is Raylynn. I've tried sparkpeople before but never stuck with it. I'm ready to give it another go. I'm at the highest weight of my life(195). My clothes don't fit, I'm always tired, and I have horrible self-esteem. I'm ready to make some changes for myself, my husband, and my wonderful son (1yr).

I am a vegan so a lot of the recipes don't work unless I specifically look for vegan recipes which there are. In general veganism is pretty healthy so yeah. I have tons of cookbooks and stuff, I just use the recipe calculator if the cookbook doesn't list the nutritional info in the recipe, and enter it manually. It's a pain but it keeps me from eating too much. I'm also getting good at learning what makes a nutritional meal from the trackers. :)

yeah, loving food is a problem sometimes. I still love food, just being smarter about it and healthy is what I'm trying to do. In some ways it's great that I love to cook delicious recipes, because I can make my food that much more healthy now and don't really need to worry about eating prepared or processed foods much.

hey there, thanks for the comment on my blog (I figured you'd see this better here than on the blog)...Good luck with your journey to lose weight/get healthy! Even though I've been doing this for just around 2 weeks, I too had tried sparkpeople a few times before but got so frustrated because I couldn't stick with the calorie range at all--was too hungry. But this time I've been really motivated and figured out some strategies...somehow my first day I kept within the calorie range and have since. Of course there's more to work on (my fat intake is a little high) but I'm getting closer and seeing results, and feel so much better-healthy and happy. So just some encouragement for you :) Hope you can figure stuff out and feel good and stick with it! Let me know if you need any tips or advice or support (I know I could use some too haha). Take care!
