To go up and down stairs without pain... To cross my legs at the knee and have them stay there... To wear a belt and have my shirt tucked in at the waist... To wear a tank top without scaring anyone... To look damn good when my kids get married and not be the fat mom in the wedding album... To look back and say "Yes, I did it"...
This is what I want. And I know I am going to have to work hard to get everything I want. And it will be so worth it!
Size 12 pants, size medium shirts, and a number on the scale I can smile about.
To wear sundresses, shorts and a bathing suit when we go on vacation next year.
To clothes shop in my closet for the things that used to fit -- and have them fit again before they are completely out of style.
Track everything I eat. 30 mins exercise each day - broken into 3 10-minute chunks if necessary. Get rid of junk food and junk sugar one meal / snack at a time. Increase protein & fiber one meal / snack at a time Aim for 10,000+ steps daily.
I am on the other side of 50 (and feeling it some days!) but forever young at heart. Menopause is not making this weight loss journey any easier but I know I need to get my weight under control to relieve some of the medical issues that have been creeping up on me.
I have played around on Spark long enough without making any commitment to changes, not seeing any progress, boo-hooing on my blogs...time to stop the pity party and get focused.
This is going to be a way of life for me.. I have to stop thinking and planning and wishing and actually get off my butt and DO something!

LIFE LESSONS FROM A SNOWMAN (Unknown)
It's okay if you're a little bottom heavy. Hold your ground, even when the heat is on. Wearing white is always appropriate. Winter is the best of the four seasons. It takes a few extra rolls to make a good midsection. There's nothing better than a foul weather friend. The key to life is to be a jolly, happy soul. It's not the size of the carrot, but the placement that counts. We're all made up of mostly water. You know you've made it when they write a song about you. Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize! Avoid yellow snow. Don't get too much sun. It's embarrassing when you can't look down and see your feet. It's fun to hang out in your front yard. Always put your best foot forward. There's no stopping you once you're on a roll.

Happy Wednesday! I hope you've been having a great week so far. I just wanted to wish you a very healthy Thanksgiving and to remind you to stay strong in the face of all temptation there is bound to be. Focus on your loved ones and everything you have to be thankful for, and not just the food. If you over indulge, just get back on track on Friday! Remember, its only a holiDAY, and not a holiWEEK.
