Hi, my name is Linda. I am a 51-year-old female who lives in Bella Vista, AR, with her husband, son, and three cats. I joined spark people in March of 2012. This is my third time joining this site and my last. This time I am much more motivated. I was 143 in March and today, June 5, 2013, I finally reached my goal weight of 125 (124.8) on the scales. I have lost a lot of inches. I want to lose a few more pounds if possible, and then go into my maintenance stage and get more toned up. I had back surgery in October of 2012 and have trouble walking and lifting things, but I found by doing water aerobics, light weights, and using the Nustep at the gym, I can exercise and still get fit. Spark people has helped me tremendously. I plan to use it for maintenance for life!
Update: I hurt my back again in late August of 2013 and regained all of the weight plus a few more pounds. I got to 150, and now doing SP in conjunction with BECK COGNITIVE DIET, AND SUPERMARKET DIET, (Both healthy diets), and of cours sparkpeople, I am back down to 144.4. So I believe it will be in latter December/January or around that time when I again reach my goal weight. Negative thinking and depression hurt and me and I sabotaged myself by not trying harder. This time, I am in therapy in conjunction with this weight loss and then when I reach maintenance. I feel confident. I don't have any new photos, but plan on keeping this one here when I was 125, to motivate me for next spring. I am also going to school part-time and going to start volunteering on Fridays at the literacy Council. Back problems are worse, but I know I can do this.
125 currently. Would like to get into a pair of sexy size 6 shorts by this month if possible and then I plan on maintaining this weight for the rest of my life and continuing to get fit and toned.
I follow Spark People every day. I do not do the planned meals, but instead eat healthy. I try to get in my carbs, protein, fat, and caloric requirements every day. I have a few snacks and treats on weekends, but I try to eat healthy as much as possible during the week. I also try to drink at least 6 full glasses of water daily, and more if it is possible. I exercise at least 6 days per week. I go to the gym twice per week and workout for an hour to an hour and a half, using the Nustep for around an hour and water aerobics for 30 minutes to one hour. I also use light weights to do a seated workout 3 times per week and also do a seated cardio workout one day per week. I try to get out and ride my bicycle on weekends when it is nice weather. I have dropped around 2 pounds per week, almost every week. After the first 6 weeks, my program was not that hard to follow. I did use Beck Cognitive Therapy to teach me good eating habits, and that and keeping a diary and exercise log.
I am a 50-year-old female who lives in beautiful Bella Vista, Arkansas, with my two cats, son, and fiancee. I am not working right now. I had major back surgery in October and do plan on returning to work soon. I have always done office work/transcriptionist work.
I am a Christian. I read books for inspiration and encouargement, I love all different kinds of music from contemporary Christian to alternative rock. I love to cook and experiment with new recipes often.
