I went far and came very close to my goal. Then I lost momentum and spiraled out of control. Many have called me inspirational. I'm also a warning. That's cliched and cheesy, but it's true. Weight loss is hard work, even if you don't feel like it in the moment. The instant that you lose focus, it starts all over again.

But I will not give up. I still breathe, so I'll still fight.

If you go to YouTube and listen to the six one-hour lectures on obesity by JASON FUNG M.D. you learn about Insulin Resistance and why we regain the weight from having a "set point." He says we must maintain a new weight for at least one year before our bodies reset our metabolism and stop wanting us to regain. It goes back to premative times when we had "feast and famine". He is a medical doctor who works with kidney patients, most all of whom have Type 2 diabetes, so he decided to study WHY they got diabetes, which led to the kidney failure. Of course, he follows the same line of medical help that Richard Bernstein M.D. has in his 18 YouTube lectures on obesity. I learned so much from his book "The Diabetes Solution".
I went to a Navy doctor for help to lose weight, and was told "At your AGE (I'm 65) you can expect to lose weight since you have Metabolic Syndrome." Right. Thus I started looking on the internet and found Jason Fung M.D.

It is only human that you gained some weight back. Losing weight is really hard, especially when we have to re-program both our brains and our bodies. That's a lot of re-programming. So, okay, you gained some weight back. This is life and our inner selves wanting to return to our "comfort living zone." Don't be harsh on yourself or it will come back and get you. Own that you are human and slowly but steadily begin again. You can do it. It's okay not to be perfect

I wish you well and all the best. Julie
