Mommy on a Mission
I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls, 2.5 years and 8 months and am finding myself lacking in energy to keep up with them. I have always been overweight and not enjoyed it but , for the most part, have avoided doing anything about it. Now it is very important for me to set a good example for my girls, as well as have the energy to keep up with them. I have always been overweight and not enjoyed it but , for the most part, have avoided doing anything about it. Now it is very important for me to set a good example for my girls, as well as have the energy to keep up with them. There are also the usual vanity issues such as; to fit into regular clothes, not worry about having space in public settings, and even though I truly believe my wonderful husband loves me as I am, I still want to feel as beautiful as he sees me.

My Goals:
Long Term Goals; 1. Increase my energy to be able to keep up with 2 children and go back to work full time 2. Be able to shop at any store and fit into their clothes 3. Be within my recommended weight range, even if it's the top of the scale 4. Run a marathon
My Program:
I am currently working with the Atkins approach to my diet. I have lost 13 lbs prior to joining Sparkpeople using this plan and find that for me, it has been the best way to deal with my sugar addiction. I stay satisfied longer and am not constantly looking for snacks. I also try to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio a day either by going for a walk, or using my elliptical trainer. I prefer Pilates for strength training and am also using the suggested exercises on this site when I get a chance between dealing with the kids. One day I would like to start jogging but that requires some freedom to leave the house without my baby who currently, at 7 months, is in the only liking mommy phase.
