Keeping On Keeping On

I have just begun my 2nd year on Spark and have lost 34 pounds, 3 pounds to my first goal.

I had success with Atkins/High Protein approach over and over again. But each time, I think I can just 'return' to my younger eating patterns and not gain weight. And that magical thinking has not worked. I am now an official 'oldster' and have realized that it is time for my health to stay with the approach that really works best for my body, in this here and now.

My first year taught me new habits, new choices and absolutely confirmed that Atkins is my life-long health path. I look forward to continuing my journey to a still lower goal weight and to years of healthy maintenance. I will not abandon my knowledge and focus as I have in the past. I'm here to stay.

Walking & exercise.

It's not a diet, it's my lifestyle.

Atkins/High Protein works really well for my body. I've been here before but see have used it as a 'diet' not a real change-point choice. Learning now for life.

Walking is my best fitness activity but I've now added some exercises.

I love Hi Heels also but do not wear them either. I use to years ago. Have more sense now I think. LOL

Thanks so much for your comments on my recent blog and for the friend add. I've also experienced what you've described--the feeling frustrated by a lack of progress, but also being unwilling/unable to put in a lot more effort--and am trying to learn that that's okay. We don't always have to push ourselves to the maximum. Motivation has high and low points just as our lives do and understanding when is a good time to set more ambitious goals and when is a good time to tread water is a huge help in keeping ourselves on track in the long haul--as is taking a step back every once in a while to appreciate just how far we've come. Hang in there and try not to let a few pesky pounds throw you off balance!
