A Little Time For Me!

I am a caregiver for my disabled husband, my Mom and my Dad. I have worked outside the home also for 31 years and was forced into retirement by losing my job due to the office closing. I realized that I have been taking care of everyone else and not myself. I found out I have CAD and now have to do something to help myself or I won't be here to take care of anyone else.

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” ~ World Health Organization

It seems like many of us face a continual battle to stay positive when little progress is apparent. We just have to keep in mind that we our efforts will result in a healthier life. We need to focus on how we are feeling and the energy we have to accomplish daily life tasks. I’m working hard to concentrate on my health rather than just on the number on the scale; to concentrate on non-scale victories to help me stay positive every day.

“Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.” ~ Keri Russell

“It's in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” ~ Anthony Robbins

I’m on day 10 of changing my life and this is definitely a difficult journey. I am not a good decision maker and tend to opt for immediate gratification and comfort. I am struggling with making mindful decisions about the food I eat or don’t eat. I am not doing as well as I should be in that area although I have consistently gotten in exercise minutes each day. I was looking for quotes to motivate myself to think before making any decision and these two caught my eye. I think the messages they contain are both so important to us all!
I hope you are staying healthy and active as we enter this new year of new choices and new successes.

I am wishing you only the best in 2013 ~ eat healthy, exercise daily, laugh often, and love your family and friends. Open your heart and mind to new experiences, embrace what works for you and discard what doesn't.
Our progress in 2013 depends upon how we face each day and the choices we make, so let's face the day with a positive attitude and a smile on our faces. Let's make wise and mindful choices and push forward in the direction of our goals.
Stay focused, determined, and positive!
Sheila

"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us." ~ Hal Borland

This year with all its successes and hardships is coming to an end. Let's use our 2012 life experiences to help make 2013 a year to always remember! Let's treat every new day as a gift to be opened; an opportunity to learn and improve. Let's face every day with a smile on our faces and love in our hearts. Let's go forward with positive attitudes and faith in ourselves.
