Nothing feels so good.... as Peace feels.

Having lost weight before and then lost the battle (many times), this is my last chance to become and stay healthy the rest of my life, as I'm over 70. Having lost weight before and then lost the battle (many times), this is my last chance to become and stay healthy the rest of my life, as I'm over 70. My goal is to make this my last journey to lose weight -- slow or fast, my goal is to continue to get healthier and honor God with how I take care of His temple. When I look in the mirror, I know I'm obese, but now as I attempt to buy insurance, I'm restricted from many policies because of my weight. Spark People site has been incredible in helping me get on the right path and I am so thankful.

March/2012: Now about 5.5 months since starting this path: I'm delighted that I can report a 40 pound weight loss, despite the holidays and some dreadful plateaus. I'm thrilled and thankful beyond description that God led me to this website. PRISM Weight Loss Program is an incredible Christian program where I learned so much about nutrition and that I felt better when I fasted from whites. I lost a lot of weight using it, but then lost focus when it came to maintenance and slowly but surely gained the weight back. When I started this journey again I realized counting calories is fundamental to my losing weight, so SP has been incredible. It will be with me forever.... I'm praising the Lord that losing is continuing. Cholesterol had dropped to 149 at my January annual physical as a result of my diet changes... so off anti-cholesterol medicine. Blood Pressure normal without medications and no more "a little bit high" glucoses. God has blessed me!

June/2012: Now I can claim a 60 pound weight loss and into ONEderland... and half way to my goal. All I can say is: thank you, Lord, for being with me on this journey and for Your strength in my perseverance.....

August/2012: Now I can claim a 70 pound weight loss and am enjoying ONEderland. I joined SparkCoach to challenge me to continue to goal, as I still have a long ways to go. I feel so much better, it would be easy to stop "here" rather than continue on. I'm enjoying the consistency and challenges of Spark Coach.

9/19/12: ONE year anniversary. Been playing around this summer so weight loss has been slow, but thankfully still there. So thrilled that I am "here" one year after starting this journey and on the road to good health. So thankful for Spark and plan on being "here" for the rest of my life....

12/6/12: Still in ONEderland, but not being consistent with exercise or food so the scale is up/down/up/down. December had so many "interruptions" and I'm looking forward to January when things settle down. And by the middle of January, I can say the same thing up/down/up/down.... but thankful that the Lord allows "restarts!"

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” ~ World Health Organization

It seems like many of us face a continual battle to stay positive when little progress is apparent. We just have to keep in mind that we our efforts will result in a healthier life. We need to focus on how we are feeling and the energy we have to accomplish daily life tasks. I’m working hard to concentrate on my health rather than just on the number on the scale; to concentrate on non-scale victories to help me stay positive every day.

Thanks for posting on my blog. All four of my cats are indoor cats and are declawed in the front paws only. We do let them outside in the mornings only, but we are out with them and they are not allowed outside the back yard. They have learned not to climb the fence, except for Sparkles, but she goes over the front fence to the front door and waits for us to let her back in the house. We have a large colony of ferral cats in the back that we feed and take care of. In our town, we are allowed to do that as long as the neighbors do not complain and we catch and neuter/spay them. They have been successful in keeping down the rodent problem which we had before they came around. Love my cats.
