Nothing feels so good.... as Peace feels.

I started on Spark in September 2011. I had good success for about a year, then I struggled with up/down, up/down. I lost 100# when I was 60, then gained it all back, the lost 100# when I was about 70 - and now have gained it all back. I really want to be healthy, but I give up if I even have a taste of sweet! God has amazingly kept me healthy despite the abuse I have done to my body.

The most important thing for me is to count calories... when it comes to losing weight. I read a post the other day the weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. I always said, that the older one gets, weight depends solely on food intake...

So here we are in 2015 and I am miserable, can't bend over to put on socks without feeling miserable! I decided that I needed to do something drastic, so starting 1/5/15, I did just that with a 48 fast. The less I eat, the less hungry I am.... Interesting!

I'm thanking God for His strength, His leading, and His protection through all my ups and downs.

Hi, Lois. I thought of you the other day (as I often do) when I heard your nephew interviewed on the radio about the bird flu here in Iowa. I miss you, my friend. I hope things are going well for you and that you are staying healthy and busy! Hugs, Jeannie emoticon emoticon

I commented today that life is like a roller coaster ride. There are ups and downs, twists and turns.
There are times you want it to stop and get off, but then there's the excitement, thrill , you want to ride again.
I can't begin to tell you of the moments of doubt, the crying "why me', when things don't go right. But I take a deep breath, mediate and know that it's all part of life. I will prevail in the long run.
We just have to have patience. If you feel like a break, take it.
I find that many times we are too hard on ourselves.
If we limit pleasures, our time too much trying to be better, it can have the opposite results.
I know you are going to look at where you are today and start to get back to where you want to be.
Take one day at a time, one pound at a time. Don't set too strict of goals. Just be comfortable and happy as you go about doing what you can do to enhance your life.
Take care, stay positive.
Hugs, Tisha emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the goodie and congrats! I appreciate that. I hope you are doing well as I haven't seen you around much (or maybe I'm looking at the wrong threads). Anyway, take care! Jackie O
