A mother and grandmother of several, finally deciding to put my health as a top priority. I am tired of carrying around all that extra weight.

I started my weight loss journey in early 2009 at 150 kilos (330 lbs) Today (Dec. 2013) I have lost over 75 kilos (165 lbs) .

Thank you for the visit. Congratulations on your weight loss! It is a whole new life; I have a great grandson now and am ao happy to be fit enough to really enjoy him! Walking is my primary exercise too; but I love hooping--it's just fun. I've made hoops for all my grandkids! If you go to the Hula Hoop All-Stars Team page you will find links to all kinds of helpful information! Best advice I can give you as you are starting out is to start out practicing in both directions. One will be easier than the other but it's important to hoop both ways to keep your muscles in balance; just like any other exercise. I mostly just waist hoop; I can do that inside. In nice weather I try some moves and lifts in the yard but I don't do anything fancy. I envy those with graceful dance moves as they hoop; I couldn't do a lot of what they do even without a hoop! Have fun! Smiles.
