Enjoyed the 2014 Summer 5% challenge so much I signed up for the Fall 2014 5% challenge. Didn't reach my 5 % goal but learned much more about moi! I've lost over 20 pounds since being on Spark and have had a gamut of physical challenges which I realize I may have used as justifications, some anyways, for getting stuck at this plateau. My "favorite" challenge, only because I find it so darn difficult is food tracking.

Above all enjoy each day, be grateful for life, have joy, face each moment without fear.

My goals:
loose 8 pounds and keep it off.
strive for the 80/20 rule. After every meal, feel 80% full.
increase energy.
nutrition and fitness take a priority over screen time
Balance love, spirit, enlightenment as primaries.

My Nutrition Plan:
Mindfully eat nutritionally healthy food in smaller portions. While following the Spark Guide I have some health related restrictions that are a priority as well as improving balances in nutrition I found I was missing last challenge ie folate. Water is a must and usually easy to achieve. Track, track, track!!!

Fitness:
My level of chronic pain determines what gets done. Fortunately walking is usually beneficial in working through the pain or gardening is meditative and allows me to accept the pain. There are days where all I can do is lay down, sleep if possible.

My Fitness Plan:
Exercise every day, depending on pain level. Walking*, yoga, garden, dance with the parrots and play with Tau'ri. Fit a long hike in once a month. Take a break when pain demands. Fit heavy cleaning in as is possible.
*Walk when it’s cold. Walk when it’s hot. Walk when it’s dark. Walk when the sun is rising or setting. Walk when it’s raining. Experience the variability. Life shouldn’t always be a steady 70 degrees. Live a little.

My Goals:
Start where I am, use what I have, do what I can – it will be enough. Have confidence. Never let fear rule.

Daily:
have time outdoors regardless of weather;
mindfully follow my program;
express gratitude;
meditate;
morning yoga session;
laugh;
help someone;
be kind;
maintain patience with myself.

Question everything and remain open minded.


My Program:
I'm following the eat less of everything plan - to address my issue with portion control - consuming fewer calories. Steer clear of processed foods while consuming whole foods that have been refined as little as possible.

If physically possible will do at least 30 minutes of activity every day with this becoming part of my routine.
I'm finding modifications of aerobic, resistance, interval exercises are possible and comply with my physical restrictions.



Personal Information:
I love the taste of food, but I love the taste of life even better!

I am an avid reader, gardener, nature lover, yogi, walker, water spirit.

We share our home with a Blue & Gold Macaw, a Senegal, and a Border collie mix. They've all rescued us and our lives are better for that.

I have survived more then many thought possible. Each gift of life has been a unique journey towards self-discovery.

I believe in individuality while being one with the universe.

I know my words, thoughts and feelings have value. I am free to feel my emotions and, being human, usually no longer need to protect my sensitivity.

For me, getting a cell has nothing to do with talking to people... LOL! I want to post pics easily to Instagram and Twitter. Be able to take video on the fly. So many times I say, "Oh, I wish I had a camera" to document stuff - and now, I will. There are lots of functions I will use - like GPS. I ALWAYS get lost. That alone is worth the cost of admission. Not to worry though, I fully intend to keep my number top secret. Shhhh.
