Yes, yes- I'm holding a Fancy Shake from CookOut. It doesn't hurt to have one once in a while.

Here I Go!

I graduated with a B.A. in Math in 2012 and finished my M.A. in Teaching in May of this year. This summer, I am working as a bank teller until I begin teaching full time in August. I will be teaching Algebra 1 to high school freshmen at the very school that I attended!

I have always sort of struggled with my weight, but as I approached, and passed, the 200 lb mark, reality began to set in. My body is the Lord's temple and I'm supposed to honor Him with my time, thoughts, gifts, and actions, and that includes my body and how I eat. How can I expect to be considered a good role model as both a Christian and a teacher if I cannot practice enough self-discipline and respect to take care of my body in a way that glorifies my Maker? So this is it. This is my journey to healthful, honoring living!

My Goals:
I have a weight goal, but I reeeeaaalllyyy just want to be healthy and happy.
I want to feel good when I get dressed each day and be excited to step out of my comfort zone, unhindered by how I feel about my weight!

My Program:
Exercising at least 3 days per week for at least 30 minutes- jumping rope, exercise ball, walking.
Preparing more meals at home and eating leftovers for lunch instead of fast food or the school's lunch.
Drinking at least 4 cups of water per day (for now- that's a huge step up from my current 0-1 ...).

Personal Information:
Follower of Christ

Teacher of mathematics

Other Information:
Jane Eyre is probably my favorite book of all time, although I have to admit I'm a huge fan of the Hunger Games series as well. And I love old movies, think James Stewart and Humphrey Bogart. Currently, I'm able to limit my favorite musical artists to Josh Groban, Sleeping At Last, and the Avett Brothers.

Good morning! I hope all is going well. I see that you've reached ONEderland. Congratulations! Even when life gets busy, remember to continue working on this lifestyle change. It's honoring your temple, being a good example to your students, and providing a way for yourself to grow, learn, and enjoy life.
