Reagan's Weight Loss Journey

This has been a long journey for me which began when I was a teenager. I was always a little overweight and never felt totally comfortable with the way my body looked. I married a wonderful man who also happened to be in the Marine Corps and we moved alot. After our first daughter was born, I was about 40 pounds overweight and lost all but the last 10 pounds. I married a wonderful man who also happened to be in the Marine Corps and we moved alot. After our first daughter was born, I was about 40 pounds overweight and lost all but the last 10 pounds. That was when I got pregnant again, this time with twins. I ended up on complete bedrest at about 7 1/2 months pregnant and did nothing but eat. I gained 75 ponds and this time weighed over 200 pounds. That sent me into a depression and yo-yo dieting for almost 20 years. Another set of twins and then a single child more weight came on until I found myself over 300 pounds. In 2003 I lost over 40 pounds and was doing great until my hubby decided that it was time to retire from the Marine Corps. With another stressful move and having to adjust to civilian life I gained all the weight back. Now that we are finally settled it is finally time for me!!! So far I have lost 40 pounds with 88 more to go. This time is so different than the other times of losing weight and I know that I will get all of it off this time.

I feel I need to update my page here. Alot has happened since I last was on here. Needless to say, I gained back some of the weight I've lost and now am on the path of fixing what's in my head and realizing, through ww, that we are the only ones (besides God) who are in charge of our lives. Journaling is key, no matter what weight loss plan t hat you are on. Exercise is also a must!!! Now that I'm in my mid-40's it's alot harder to take off than 20 years ago. I am going to go into my fifties, fit and healthy!

Yes, it has been about a year since I have been here but am now back on track with ww after some personal struggles. I have gained back the 50 lbs I had lost but am now down 10 lbs. and am just taking it one day at a time.

Okay, I'm going to try and update this every month. I have now lost a total of 12 lbs. and feel great! I still have a long way to go but will get there one pound at a time. It can be a challenge here in my house but I am doing this for me so can't worry about what everyone else is eating. Two of my children are having a birthday this month...3 days apart. As long as I don't fall apart and eat the whole cake things will be good. I am now exercising 5 days a week and am even doing some weights for the upper body. Love the way it makes me feel, not so depressed.

It's been awhile since I have been here and I must say that my weight hasn't changed much, I'm just getting older. I will be 49 in a couple of months and am now in menopause which has really been a challenge. My cousin said to me last week that my legs look smaller but my belly looks bigger. With that comment and the fact that there are some pictures of me from her daughter's wedding that are not that flattering, made me realize that what I am doing is not working. I need help!!!! I have been reading some inspiring weight loss stories right here from Spark People and have realized that I really need to come back so here I am!! Will keep you posted on my progress!!!!

My Goals:
Right now my goal is to lose 10% of my weight and then will set another goal after that.

My Program:
I am currently attending ww meetings and am also doing the WATP dvd's. Also have started doing weights for the upper body. Started out with 2 lb. weights and am now doing 3 lbs. The max will probably be 5lbs.
