It's Time...

I originally joined spark people back in 2006. After a few attempts I'm back again on this weight loss journey.

My main issue is transitions to new events in life. New jobs, moving, school among other things somehow make me slide back into bad eating habits. I have realized that I will always have to watch what I eat and my portions in order to lose weight (and eventually maintain). I know this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change!

I just turned 30 and weighed in at my highest weight ever (230 lbs). Currently my plan is to focus on food, and introduce low impact fitness while I lose a bit of weight. From there I will begin to focus more on my physical activity. Ready to make a change for life and stop this yo-yo weight loss.

Starting Weight - 230 lbs (BMI - 37.1)

Goals/Mini Goals:

215lbs - completed 7/28/14 (weighed in at 214.4)

207 (10% body weight gone) - completed 8/26/14 (weighed in at 206.2)

Back to Onederland! (199.9 or less) - Completed 10/07/14 (weighed in at 199.2)

Run my first 5K
185 (another 10% gone and move into Overweight BMI)
175lb
165lb
June 2015 - Under 154lb (goal weight - normal BMI)

My Goals:
My short term goal is to lose 10% of my body weight (23 lbs).

Move into the Overweight BMI (185lbs)

My ultimate goal at this point is to get into the "healthy" BMI category which is under 154.

Run the 5K at Disney's Castaway Cay

Run the Princess Half Marathon at Walt Disney World


My Program:
eating healthier specifically limiting dairy and unhealthy carbs & sugars. Eating lots of veggies!

Drinking 8 cups of water a day.

Working out:
Cardio (5+ times a week) including elliptical and group exercise classes (zumba etc).
Strength and core training 3 times a week

-Married for 3 years



Other Information:
I love to travel! My past adventures include: Iceland, Britain, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Shetland Islands, Faroe Island, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, France, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Gibraltar, Tenerife, Malta, Tunisia, Many places in Canada & USA, Caribbean.

My to do list includes:
Alaska (cruise), Hawaii, Paris, Australia, New Zealand, all Disney Parks across the world.

I am feeling pretty confident right at the moment. I sure hope this is the push the sees us to the end then we can help each other with Maintenance!Won't that be a nice problem to have? :)

I'm from Virginia, although originally from western New York. How far are you guys into the immigration process? Ours took about five months start to finish.

Hi from the Calling All Canadians, DONE Girls, and Fat=Funk Fit=Fabulous teams!! I'm turning 27 this Friday and am also in Ontario. My husband and I went through the whole separation/immigration emotional roller coaster until it ended with me becoming a Canadian resident. Hope you don't mind me adding you as a friend!
