Staying Focused!!

I am in my fourth year of living a healthy life style!!
I celebrated my three year anniversary with SparkPeople February 12, 2014. I reached my goal weight on 2/7/12 - almost a year to the day I joined SparkPeople!! Sometimes my weight goes up a little bit, but I manage to drop it back down and maintain with different challenges on the SparkPeople web site, the support of my SparkBuddies as well as future physical goals.

I started off with walking. If you would have told me three years ago that I would have run a 5k, I would have never believed it!

As of today, I have run 5ks, 10k's, 2 ten milers, and 5 Half Marathons! Funny how fast one's perspective can change...even for us middle-aged people!

The biggest things that stand out to me are my energy level and my confidence to try new physical activities.

I have eaten a lot healthier over the past three years. I love the food and fitness tracker app on my iphone. It helps me to stay consistent and on track.

Thanks for the Sparkgift! and for all the support that you share.
I'm really lucky to have wonderful sparkfriends :)
Zahav had 2 OK days this weekend, and my mother is almost recovered except for being extremely nervous driving.
Her new car that she is ordering will have a "collision avoidance system" which just helps her feel a bit more secure I guess.
One more big holiday dinner on Friday, and the most holy day of the year on Saturday and it's a 25 hour fast (food and water)... I already have it planned with the second half the day with my daughter and a nice calm small dinner late that night with her and my parents and grandparents. I'm looking forward to it :)
I hope you have a good week! what did you make for your lunches? are you still on a salad streak?

My husband said if he could find out where the motel got theirs beds, he would buy one for us. We stayed at a La Quinta Inn.

I had no trouble falling asleep and even awoke lying on my back which I can't do in our bed because it causes pain. The beds were high. I had to stand on my tiptoes to get up into it and I think they were king-size. We had four pillows on it. I was able to read some chapters in the motel room that I needed to read for my diabetes class on Tuesday.

We went to a Dollar Tree and bought snacks and bottled water We were in a shopping center where there was a KMart, Kroger grocery store, Dollar Tree and other stores. There was a McDonalds close by and the Inn was in a convenient location for travelers if they forgot anything.

We saw a bunch of Canadian geese in the median one morning on the way to the church building and a 5 buzzards on the road.

There is a road below the church building with steep steeps up a hill to the building. I was walking up the steps and thought I saw a huge spider, but it was a skinny lizard scampering to the edge of the steps.

The road to the church building is all "S" curves and someone in a pickup tried to pass us on a double line. There was an oncoming truck. He was able to get around us just in the nick of time to avoid a head-on collision with the truck. It was dark and we were careful on the winding road.
