I am in my sixth year of living a healthy life style!! I celebrated my fifth year anniversary with SparkPeople February 12, 2016. I reached my goal weight on 2/7/12 - almost a year to the day I joined SparkPeople!! Sometimes my weight goes up a little bit, but I manage to drop it back down and maintain with different challenges on the SparkPeople web site, the support of my SparkBuddies as well as future physical goals. I started off with walking. If you would have told me three years ago that I would have run a 5k, I would have never believed it! As of today, I have run 5ks, 10k's, 3 ten milers, and 5 Half Marathons! Funny how fast one's perspective can change...even for us middle-aged people! Even though I have conquered all of the above, I am faced with an even bigger "challenge". I lost my 26 year old son last November to Anorexia Nervosa. I am in the first year of my grieving process and it is very difficult. I need to stay healthy, but, it is not the first thing on my mind. And, since he passed away from counting calories, weighing himself on the scale 3 times per day, and eating halves of everything - it has been a real mental challenge for me. My favorite quotes... All you can change is yourself, but sometimes that changes everything!Gary W. Goldstein Goals are dreams with deadlines. ---Diana Scharf Hunt Take care of your body. Its the only place you have to live. - Jim Rohn What you are doing is not nearly as important as how you feel about what you are doing. - Unknown There'll be two dates on your tombstone. And all your friends will read 'em. But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em. - Kevin Welch All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. Walt Disney Accomplishment only takes place when you actively participate with your intentions. Therefore, fully commit to participate in the dreams of your choice and do so against all the risks confronting you.Guru Singh No Matter How You Feel, Get Up, Dress Up, Show Up, and Never Give Up - Unknown

The gender of the person pulled from the river has not been given, but the people are not ending up in the trash by their own accord. I really think there may a serial killer/s in the Pittsburgh area.

It only took a day for them to identify the one man that was found in a trash can thrown over a hillside. The woman was identified too, but that does not resolve what happened to them.

We are waiting for the 6 PM newscast. I don't know if they will be able to give out the gender then or not. They may wait until the body is identified and the family is contacted.

Yes, this is an emotional rollercoaster for sure.

Hubby seems more supportive this time though he still offers me stuff that he knows I should not eat like potato chips, snack cakes with whipped cream on them, and Triscuit crackers.

I am getting back to where I can say, No, and stick to not putting it in my mouth. One taste and it is all over for me. It is like offering alcohol to an alcoholic. A Sparker wrote that, I think, or I may have read it on one of the low carb sites on Facebook, but food is like that for me.

It looks like a thunderstorm is approaching. Bayau went out and dug up the back yard this morning and came in with wet, muddy paws. I had a big mess to clean up once I got her paws cleaned.

Prayer is my "go to" in all of this stress. I had to stay by the phone yesterday to make calls, but I hope to get out today and get the edging in the front yard done. Hubby is going to call about his job and I suspect it won't be long before he goes to work.

Your prayers for us and Koty are greatly appreciated!
