Staying Focused!!

I am in my third year of living a healthy life style!!
I celebrated my three year anniversary with SparkPeople February 12, 2014. I reached my goal weight on 2/7/12 - almost a year to the day I joined SparkPeople!! Sometimes my weight goes up a little bit, but I manage to drop it back down and maintain with different challenges on the SparkPeople web site, the support of my SparkBuddies as well as future physical goals.

I celebrated my three year anniversary with SparkPeople February 12, 2014. I reached my goal weight on 2/7/12 - almost a year to the day I joined SparkPeople!! Sometimes my weight goes up a little bit, but I manage to drop it back down and maintain with different challenges on the SparkPeople web site, the support of my SparkBuddies as well as future physical goals.

I started off with walking. If you would have told me three years ago that I would have run a 5k, I would have never believed it!

As of today, I have run 5ks, 10k's, 10 milers, and 4 Half Marathons! I am currently training for my 5th Half Marathon - the Delaware HM and the Philly Broad Street 10 miler. Funny how fast one's perspective can change...even for us middle-aged people!

The biggest things that stand out to me are my energy level and my confidence to try new physical activities.

I have eaten a lot healthier over the past three years. I love the food and fitness tracker app on my iphone. It helps me to stay consistent and on track.

I am so happy that I took up running - it is such a big stress reliever! It is now part of my routine so I just keep going.

My Goals:
To complete five 5k's during the 2014 season.

To run a 5k in under 26.24.

To run the Main Street Miler 2014 in under 8.38 mph.

To complete the Philly Broadstreet 10 miler in May.

To run the Delaware Half Marathon May 11, 2014 in under 2.06

My Program:
I am currently utilizing the iFit Half Marathon training program, which is tied into my treadmill.

I am also doing one exercise video per day. They vary in activity.

I walk 2 miles per day with my dog, Roxy - weather permitting!!

Personal Information:
I have been married for 26 years. I have two sons, ages 25 and 23 and a beautiful little Boston Terrier named "Roxy". Having a dog who loves to walk is such a great gift...she gets me out everyday. All I have to do is look at those big brown eyes and I am out the door!!

Delaware HM huh? I imagine that's pretty flat? How is that one usually?

I'm doing a lot this year- So far I'm registered for Cherry Blossom 10 Miler (DC), Sole of the City 10K (Balt City), Nike Women's DC, and the Baltimore 10 miler. In the fall I'm doing the Charles Street 12 (Balt county/City) and the 10K Across the Bay in Annapolis.

I'm probably also doing the Frederick Running Festival and the Balt Running Festival, but I haven't signed up yet. My husband likes to do a couple local 5Ks (one in the spring and one in the fall) so I'm prob doing that as well. And I plan on signing up for the Dopey Clallenge at Disney Marathon Weekend for 2015.
