I know how to lose - lost 120 with WW, 95 with exercise physiologist, 85 on Atkins, 85 from gastric bypass. This time I want to lose and keep it off. For the first time my weight is effecting my lifestyle with arthritis in my knees. I am really excited about being a SparkPerson!!
By the way, my name is Kay. Long story on the Rubydoodle....

My Program:
I use the nutrition tracker and the activity tracker. I am walking at least five days a week for 50 minutes a day and staying within 1200 - 1550 calories to lose 2 pounds weekly.

Personal Information:
I am Kay, 64 years young, and live in Townsend, TN. My husband (of 44 years - a keeper) and I are retired educators and camp about six months a year - usually out West/Northwest in summer, Outer Banks of NC and coast of SC in fall, and Florida Keys for the winter.

Other Information:
I have three children (twin daughters and son). The girls are married and each has a son and daughter (My FabFour). My son is not married -- yet. I still have hopes he will find the right one!

I am enjoying every day!! I did a five mile hike Monday and a little over three today. I am beginning to feel more energy and have fewer days when I have no energy to do anything. I am very thankful!! I am even hoping to see some snow in the next few days!!! There is joy in every day!! emoticon

Listen to your body and do what you can. Sometimes that is only getting up and doing the minimum.

Tomorrow will be a better day! Rest and recoup! I'm hoping the emoticon is shining there in TN. If not, try visualizing a day at the beach. Whatever it takes to feel better!

Sadly, the Keys are out this year, but not too sad. I am enjoying my time here, too. We would be arriving there TODAY, if I did not have to stay for the infusions. I can be happy here, too!! We had a great Christmas in SC with the kids and then my parents and siblings and their families on the day after Christmas. The day after we got back home, I had an infusion and oncologist's visit (and blood work). So, yesterday, I had a Jello Day. Actually, Jello may be more energetic than I was. I don't think I jiggled much. All the preparations (cooking) and traveling and visiting and then Knoxville trip for cancer stuff caught up with me. Today I feel sooo much better and have gotten a lot of things accomplished. I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and will have a healthy, happy New Year! I have not been dieting at ALL over the holidays. I will weigh, scream, and get back on the wagon Monday!!! emoticon

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2015: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Kay: I am so very glad you had a great trip and were able to get your Christmas decorations out this year. I love them too, what a blessing, will you still be able to go to the Keys this year, or do the Herceptin infusions last to long for you to get to go, I'm so glad the pill is not making you to sick. GOD IS GOOD. THANK YOU JESUS.
Your trip to Dollywood sounds fun, HAVE A GREAT TIME.

PS: I went back and read one of your blogs that said your Herceptin infusions last for 9 months. Guess the Keys are out this year.

We had a wonderful trip!!! We are home, and I am enjoying my Christmas decorations. The past few Christmases, I only had a tabletop tree because we would go to SC around Dec. 21 and then to the Keys after Christmas. This year I got out all the decorations and am enjoying them so much. So far, so good with the pill. I still go every three weeks for the Herceptin infusions, too. I still feel tired all the time, but most days I am able to push through them. Today we are going to Dollywood and see the Christmas shows there and to a couple of stores before Dollywood opens. Dollywood always has great Christmas decorations and shows. We have not had annual passes for several years because we were traveling during our favorite times there. Merry Christmas! I hope your holidays are wonderful!! Oh, I gained about 10 pounds while we were at the beach, but they came right off when we got back. I will be bad today because we ate breakfast at a restaurant and will eat supper at Dollywood. Oh well, I will get back on track for the long run Jan. 2!! emoticon
