Feb. 13, 2015 - thinking I can be happy at this weight!! Now to maintain!!
March 11, 2014 - at least 60 pounds lost
Shared Food Tracker
I know how to lose - lost 120 with WW, 95 with exercise physiologist, 85 on Atkins, 85 from gastric bypass. This time I want to lose and keep it off. For the first time my weight is effecting my lifestyle with arthritis in my knees. I am really excited about being a SparkPerson!!
By the way, my name is Kay. Long story on the Rubydoodle....
I want to lose at least 130 pounds because my knees are getting really bad. I want to be upwardly mobile for a long time!
I use the nutrition tracker and the activity tracker. I am walking at least five days a week for 50 minutes a day and staying within 1200 - 1550 calories to lose 2 pounds weekly.
I am Kay, 64 years young, and live in Townsend, TN. My husband (of 44 years - a keeper) and I are retired educators and camp about six months a year - usually out West/Northwest in summer, Outer Banks of NC and coast of SC in fall, and Florida Keys for the winter.
I have three children (twin daughters and son). The girls are married and each has a son and daughter (My FabFour). My son is not married -- yet. I still have hopes he will find the right one!

Kay: Just wanted to say HELLO, and let you know I haven't forgotten about you, things around here have been kind of hectic, back on July 11th my son and his family moved home from Florida and stayed with us until last weekend, they are in their new home now and both have good jobs, then in October we found out one of my sisters had a fast growing cancer in her colon, liver and lungs, she had 3 feet of her colon taken out, but the cancer just was too bad in liver and lungs, she went home to be with our Lord on November 17th at the same time on November 16th my youngest sister went to hospital and had a arterial blood clot and had to have her leg amputated about 4 inches above the knee and a whole lot of other clots everywhere, she was in ICU for a week, they didn't expect her to live, but praise our Lord said not this time. so today she is in rehab and learning to walk with one leg and other things are all getting better. She is just doing amazing. She will be going home with her daughter on the 16th of December, Just one month after her surgery. Enough of that stuff, I'm getting back to some kind of normal (not sure what normal is)
Are you still in your little villa on the beach or are you home. would love to hear from you. I am doing about the same, I haven't lost or gained much through this last 5 months, but I'm getting back to staying on track and trying to keep up a little bit of walking, I walked so much up and down hospital halls, I would love to know how many miles I did really get, I'm so grateful to my Lord for giving me the strength and not much pain in my knees or back during this time.

Three more years from this coming November for the pills. I do not walk much aerobically because of the pain it causes in the flex part of my foot and ankle at night. I walk on the beach and look for sharks' teeth and shells and seem to do fine. I have some spurts of walking faster, though. Every time I get up from sitting, I have a spell where I walk like Tim Conway in an old person skit. It takes a bit to loosen up. Still, I am very thankful for what I CAN do and for the Lord motivating me to lose these pounds! I still have about 30 to go. I am not aiming to get as thin as I got the first time (size 12's). I think I can be quite happy in 14's!!

RUBYDOODLE: Thank You SOooooo much for leaving me a note on my sp page and for the goodie. It is so good to hear from you. I know you can do this and it sounds like your doctor does too. How long do you have to take those pills that make you hurt so bad. I'm so glad you are still able to walk some, maybe your body will respond to your getting back at it.
I'm doing ok, still have a lot of pain in my knees, but other than that I'm fine. still trying to do some exercise and loose some of this weight. So I'll stay in touch and will work together on this.
back and HAVE A GOOD NIGHT: CJ from OK.

Kay: Your little Villa, sounds wonderful, just right for you and your DH. Truly, GOD IS GOOD. We are going to my sister-in-laws for Christmas, we had all the Greats, and Grands for Thanksgiving so we may see some of them for Christmas eve, but will have a quiet Christmas day with her and some of her children, which are all adults except for one. Christmas on the beach sounds like a great place to be. I'm so glad you are feeling good.
Got to go for now: CJ from OK. HAVE A GREAT DECEMBER.

Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We did, too. Did I tell you we bought a park model in a campground just south of Myrtle Beach? It has two bedrooms and a loft that we can get four twin air mattresses for all the grands. They love it up there, even the 14 year old! Our son, one of our daughters and her husband and two children stayed here. My other daughter and her family stayed at the Hampton Inn. I had bought a tall, very thin Christmas tree. We all made Christmas ornaments from shells we found on the beach. I thought they'd do it an hour and quit, but it lasted all day Friday and off and on Saturday. We had a lot of ornaments for the tree! Just the starfish on top did not come from something one of us collected from the beach. We are really enjoying our villa (what the locals call the park models). The weather while everyone was here and today has been mid-70's and beautiful sunshine. We had a fire in the firepit for those of us who enjoy that and making so'mores. It was chilly in the evenings, but not cold. What a perfect Thanksgiving!!! God is so good!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours! I hope your knees and back will feel better, which will add to your enjoyment!
