Becoming the runner I used to be

20 years ago (and 50 pounds ago) I used to be able to run a sub 3:30 marathon. My daily runs were an addiction I could not do without. Now running is a chore. It has been a steady slide downhill for the last 15 years. As I approach 60, unless I change my ways, it will continue to get worse.

My Goals:
I want to get back to my good running weight of 20 years ago. 175 pounds seems about right.

I turned 60 last year and have steadily put weight back on. I stepped on the scale this morning and weighed 232.6 (the most ever!!). So today (6/20/12), I start over. THe journey begins!

My Program:
I've always been pretty good about running (5-6 days a week for the last 30+ years). I need to change some bad habits (soda, donuts, late night snacks, etc) and start some new ones (drinking water, eating healthy, counting calories, etc). Learn to say No (to food).

The 18 miler will be at location I ran
Did 5k there this time last yr PR 28 min
My 10k race after absence was 1:10, but at same location did 56 bef

I think it only bc 13 mile is all I ever done...so just mental block ;)

My goal for marathon is to finish but there is time limit 6 hour or 13;45 min pace
