I want to make a difference. Not just in a "I did a good job at work today", but in a way that when my time is nearing it's end, I can look back and know I did everything I could to "care for the widows and orphans" as Jesus teaches. Right now my days are pretty routine. Sunday is church, and on days off clean the house, errands, or do something with the kids. I would like to think I made a difference at work- I'm a diabetes educator, but it seems too often I see the same patients time after time still struggling with the same issues of lifestyle and weight loss...
I want to be healthy so I can "do something". Have energy to be involved in my community and with my neighbors, have energy to have by home clean enough so that I can welcome anyone in that needs a visit. Energy to teach my children that love for God and love for others is the most important thing- and showing that love matters. I can say I love others, but if I never show it, I can't really say I do.
In order to do this I need to: 1. get more sleep 2. eat healthier 3. exercise. I'm working on more sleep! We are getting cleaner in our diet all the time- my downfall is evening snacking- so need to figure something else out. I'm back to working out. I'm trying to explore some different things, and I know now I like the idea of running, but I don't think I like running itself. Working with DVDs right now, which are proving to be more excuse-proof. I can't say it's too cold/hot/rainy/foggy, etc. Just pop in and go. I also don't have to worry about what the kids are doing while I'm working out, since they can be in the same room as me. We'll see how all that goes. :)
Here's to days of doing something!
I have about 30 pounds to lose. I would love to have more energy, and feel more rested. I also have more of an "apple" shape. My legs are great-if I do say so myself :) It's all around my middle, which is the unhealthiest place, so getting rid of all this extra weight is a big priority.
I'm concentrating on drinking enough water, eating less processed foods, and exercising everyday. I switch up working out to Jillian Michaels, Ellen Barrett, and Jazzercize. I love being able to change up what I'm doing depending on my mood, and how much time I have.
I am 40 years old, and go by many different titles (just like the rest of us.) Mommy to 4 kids, ds 11, dd 10, ds 9, and ds 7. Pastor's wife, Children's Ministry Director,and I work part time as a Diabetic Educator for a physician group. I'm thankful the Lord gives me strength to do everything I have to do when I feel weak. Life can be stressful, but I know I am loved my kids, my husband, and the Lord.

How are you doing on your weight loss plan? I've been praying for you this week and just wanted to pop in and say "HI!".
I'm working to get back on track - last week we had the funeral service for Dan's mom and lots of family here so it was hard to stay on track. But this week I'm back to low sodium / low fat meals and cleaning up the house.
