Becoming Healthy

Back on the wagon again...My goal is to be fit for my 39th birthday in the spring. I want to have energy for my kids and husband, and I want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. 4 babies in 4 years pretty much destroyed any abs I had, so that is a major area I ...

I am visualizing myself toned and healthy- I know I can do it!

My Goals:
I have about 30 pounds to lose. I would love to have more energy, and feel more rested. I also have more of an "apple" shape. My legs are great-if I do say so myself :) It's all around my middle, which is the unhealthiest place, so getting rid of all this extra weight is a big priority.

My Program:
I'm concentrating on drinking enough water, eating less processed foods, and exercising everyday. I switch up working out to Jillian Michaels, Ellen Barrett, and Jazzercize. I have also discovered I like running. I love being able to change up what I'm doing depending on my mood, and how much time I have.

Personal Information:
I am 38 years old, and go by many different titles (just like the rest of us.) Mommy to 4 kids, ds9, dd7, ds6, and ds5. Pastor's wife, Children's Church teacher, Missions Coordinator, and I work part time as a Diabetic Educator for a physician group. I'm thankful the Lord gives me strength to do everything I have to do when I feel weak. Life can be stressful, but I know I am loved my kids, my awesome husband, and the Lord.

Success is a Choice
-Unknown
"Today I will make many choices, and each will have a consequence. Today I can choose to tell myself that I am worth the effort, or I can tell myself doesn't matter, I'll do it tomorrow. Today I can choose to journal, or I can choose not to. Today I can choose to drink my water, or I can choose to be
dehydrated. Today I can choose to stay in my points range, or I can choose to hinder my goals. Today I can choose to be more active, or I can choose to take the easy way. Today I can choose to be motivated, or I can choose to tell myself "I can't." Today I can choose success. IT IS MY CHOICE."

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential. "
~Ellen Goodman

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation.
Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true -- action precedes motivation. You have to prime the pump and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
- Robert J. McKain

The Healthy Holidays Challenge team is still going strong, and we still have time to make some progress before New Years Day! If you're not feeling motivated to workout and eat right today....do it anyway! Be your own hero and take charge. You will likely feel motivated after you get started. I know I don't have to remind you that you're worth the effort, right?
Hugs,
Pixie

"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things."

If you see a fat man…
Who’s jolly and cute,
wearing a beard
and a red flannel suit,
and if he is chuckling
and laughing away,
while flying around
in a miniature sleigh
with eight tiny reindeer
to pull him along,
then lets face it…
Your eggnog’s too strong!!!

“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.”
-Og Mandino

All I Needed to Know About Life I learned from Santa

Encourage people to believe in you.
Always remember who’s naughty and who’s nice.
Don’t pout.
It’s as much fun to give as it is to receive.
Some days it’s ok to feel a little chubby.
Make your presents known.
Always ask for a little bit more than what you really want.
Bright red can make anyone look good.
Wear a wide belt and no-one will notice how many pounds you’ve gained.
If you only show up once a year, everyone will think you’re very important.
Whenever you’re at a loss for words, say: “HO, HO, HO!”
