Not a quitter

I have gained and lost the same 30 or 40 pounds many times. I believe that if you add it all up, I have lost my entire body weight or more. Yikes!

I am here for the long haul. The so called "goal weight" is not so much a goal as it is a benefit that I get from living as healthfully as I can. I am not here to lose weight. I am here to get healthy and learn how to stay healthy. I do not expect to be perfect. I do commit to doing the best that I am capable of on any given day. ...

Sometimes, my best will be exercising for an hour or more and eating within my calorie range. Sometimes, my best will not be so healthy. No regrets. Just determination to be as healthy as possible.

My Goals:
My goal is to get healthy and feel great so I can enjoy hiking, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. By the March 20, 2015, I would like to be healthy and fit enough to hike the Pacific Crest Trail or the Appalachian Trail.

My Program:
1: Get a handle on my eating habits by tracking on SP. In particular, meet the protein and fat goals 6 days per week.
2: Get active...gradually!
2.a: Join "10 minute fitness challenge" to help me commit to fitness and make a new healthy habit (completed January 17, 2013)
2.b : gradually increase intensity as I become more fit.
2.c: Add one resistance training session per month, then increase frequency gradually (see blog 2/4/13)
3: Ty one new video per week to keep workouts interesting
4: Try one new recipe per week to keep meals interesting
5: Allow myself occasional splurges (I may go over my calorie goal by 500 calories once every other week while losing weight, and over once per week after reaching goal weight)
6: Maintain a healthy weight and fit body for life!

Full time RV'er for 1.5 years (June 2012 to Dec 2013.)

Are you a hot air balloon enthusiast? I took, although never finished, my pilot training for balloons, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be. And I think you're the only Spark Person I ever told about that.
