Enjoying My Healthy Life

I am 32 years old. I have been married for 7 years and proud mom to my spoiled puppies.

I have finally decided to take control of my life. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) at the end of 2008 which makes weight loss a struggle. I have had 3 fertility doctors say that I wouldn't be able to lose weight or have children and I am here to prove them wrong. I have done so much research on this issue and feel that I am equipped to make a change. I took myself off all the horrible drugs the doctors had me on for my fertility issues. I have never felt better then I do now. My body has really been thanking me for the healthy eating and exercise. I have finally taken the time I needed to take care of myself!

I am lucky to have an amazing husband who is there to support me. He is there when I need that extra boost to get through some of those tough days but also there to help celebrate my achievements.

Since my husband and I have had 7 years of infertility problems we decided to move on for awhile. We are now in the process of adoption. We are incredibly excited about this new journey and we hope one day soon we will be adding a little one to our family.

I know this is going to be a big journey but I am ready to take it one step at a time.

Hi there!

Sorry, this site takes some getting used to, and I just now discovered the note you sent along with the flowerpot you gave me! Thanks so much -- I appreciate your kindness and support. You are an inspiration! I'm excited about your adoption-in-progress, and think it's wonderful -- I hope you will keep us all updated! Hope things are continuing to go well for you. emoticon

I'm SSSOOO proud of you for your decision to take control of your life and your fertility on your own! I had many doctors tell me the same thing. I was destined to be fat and infertile and the only option was drugs. You're right that although I did lose the baby, I got pregnant, which is a feat in itself. The U/S also showed no polycystic ovaries, which means losing 10% of my body fat definitely had a big impact on my body. I beat the odds too and have lost weight through diet and exercise. Our stories are very similar and I am glad to share this journey with you. I think you are doing fantastic and you should be so excited about your life. I hope to keep in contact with you and share stories. Take care.
