I have lots of good reasons to get fit and focus on my health: my kids, my spirit, my general enjoyment of life.

What I don't have is a good excuse for giving up, or "treating myself" to things that don't get me to my goals.

Everyday is a good day to start out doing what's good for me, and for keeping it up throughout the day. Everyday is a good day to remind myself that one slip isn't a good enough reason to fall off the wagon.

My goal this year is to not give up. Enjoy all of the journey to good health, don't just focus on how I will feel at the end, but on how I feel right now, right this second. Because taking care of myself, my mental health as well as my physical health, has no end until the VERY end.

Dang! emoticon I missed your comment on my page! I'm doing pretty well. I may get laid off because the stupid legislature won't pass a damn budget--but I'm in pretty good spirits. Put in one college app, got some others in the plans. Merrily Sparking my updates most days.

Merry Midsummer, my friend! Blessed Be, Amanda emoticon

Ack! Meant to write back sooner! I was recently diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. Just last Friday I was set up with a machine and a nasal mask. I'm trying to get used to it.I think I probably look like a mummy - head band and flat speakers over my ears (for the soothing sounds), elastic chin strap under my jaw & over my head (to keep my mouth shut while I'm sleeping), the APAP (pressure machine) strap around my head with the "nasal pillows" in my nose, and a sleep mask on to cut out the lights. Oh, & I have to turn the overhead fan on because all pf this stuff makes me hot! (Not in a good way) I seem to be sleeping better ... not sure if it's a placebo effect or real.

Hey, Amy - thanks for touching base! Haven't been doing much on SP except SparkCoach and tracking...which I think might make me a slug. emoticon Anyway, all is well here except for the extra five pounds of "winter weight" I'm still struggling to drop. It definitely gets harder with age! Other than that, lots of writing, lots of yard and garden work, some major housing projects in the works and on the "list" (like a new roof and a mud room/enclosed patio) and not nearly enough house-cleaning. emoticon

    Mostly, I'm just grateful.

    What about you?
