During my time as an active member of SP I've made vast changes in my lifestyle and in my life. I don't think of weightloss as a 'goal' per se. To me, it represents a measurement of health status, and is a by-product of the true goal: good health from a healthy lifestyle. To have "thin" as the ultimate goal has no meaning for me. To have "more slender" HAPPEN? Kewl!! That could even mean the smaller clothing would let more clothing items fit into each laundry load!

Healthy living has been and will remain my focus here online and in the choices I make offline too. Some things stand out as important to me in my journey:

THE SP DIET STAGES:
My SP exerience aka time has proven to me the value of things we often overlook. Therefore, I cannot stress enough to new members the value of truly reading those SP Diet Stages! Our most difficult to conquer issues are firmly embedded in old habits so old and embedded that we don't realize they exist until we focus on what makes us say "Oh I know THAT". When some suggestion or advice seems 'old hat', consider the possibility that THAT is precisely what needs most attention. Yup, I'm a strong advocate of working - working! - through the SP Diet Stages!

"Is it really THAT important to track?"
YES!!
Tracking and measuring ... and then reviewing reports and summaries! ... empowered me to understand the areas of nutrition that needed overhaul.

A true lifestyle journey never really ends; the more we improve, the further we can travel!

What is imortant as we begin and continue changes in lifestyle is to:
ENJOY the journey! Go for it!

My Goals:
I want 2 b the best I can b!

Goal is HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

Be more active.
Lose weight.

My Program:
(1) ACTIVITY:
a. Walk.
b. Daily stretches and exercises. Push my limits further.
c. Aquadic exercise in a physical therapy pool.

(2) NUTRITION:
...* Balance and lots of color served bikini-plate style!
...* Moderation,
...* Enough. Remind myself to eat (I tend to forget).

I use the Bikini Plate 'model'... which syncs with SP's plan for me beautifully.

Personal Information:
Love music, learning. Am a self-described 'friendly recluse'. People always laugh, but... somehow the description fits just fine!

A mother, grandmother of 5, aged less than 1 yr old to 16, mom of disabled vet, I find every obstacle a challenge that empowers and grounds me in optimism.

Other Information:
I may be the Queen of the Turtles in terms of visible change, but the changes I'm continuing to make INside are HUGE!

Life is a journey.
And vice versa.

#3 is STRAWBERRIES!
They contain 4g of carbs in a 50-gram portion. One-half cup of sliced strawberries contains 6.5g of carbs.
Strawberries are loaded with phytonutrients, which makes them heart-protective, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory fruits. They contain ellagic acid, which may inhibit tumor growth. The anthocyanins found in strawberries block the pain and inflammation-causing compounds, COX-1 and COX-2. dLife Information

Thanks for stopping by my page to read my Cautious Optimism blog. I had a pretty busy weekend and didn't get the chance to reply until this morning. I'm also optimistic about our new doctor, things are looking up! emoticon

Hope you did well on your challenge last week. Look it over to remind you of what you committed to try and work into do. Unless you know all of it. I wrote mine on a tablet too, so as not to have to look it up repeatedly. Week 2 coming up, Let's give it our very best . I would like to have an overall weight check at the end to see how well we did. emoticon emoticon

Hi Sam. I had a great birthday yesterday.
Went to lunch with DS and then went to a dinner show
with the story of the Australian outback and the spirit
of the horse. Brilliant and we all given a cowboy hat.
I love your new photos. Have a great weekend. emoticon
