I'm 43 years old and very overweight. The doctor has used the term morbidly obese. I have other problems, such as diabetes (i take metformin), high cholesterol (i take gemfibrizil), depression (prozac), and anxiety (buspar). I'm going to work on losing weight in 50 lb increments.

My Goals:
Get to 200 lbs by the time I'm 45. That's 13 months or so. I guess we'll see.
Lower my triglycerides.
Someday not have to have a seat belt extender if I get on an airplane.

Tracking my eating and water consumption.
Walking 5 days a week.

I'm easily dissuaded from anything resembling exercise and need a lot of encouragement. Don't we all?

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. It's cold here and maybe snow tonight. I'm wondering if you already have some? There's a color run in Missoula on Sunday and if the weather is not too cold I think I'll drive over. I keep wanting to do one and someone sent me the information. There is a Zombie Walk/Run in Great Falls on October 25th. Haven't decided if I'll be a Zombie or a walker!!

Welcome to the 12 Weeks Walking Team. It's a very diverse group from all over the world! Some can't walk 100 steps and some are doing 5 and 10K Walks. Introduce yourself and look over the options. Half of us are in Week 3 and you and the other half will be in Week 1. We've doubled in size over the weekend!
I'll give you a brief rundown. Sassy aka JACKSGRAN and MADMIRANDA are from London. I should get a world map so I can put pins where everyone lives! Jackie lives in Italy. Judy aka HARROWJET lives in Nova Scotia. Eliz aka NOWYOUDIDIT lives in Minnesota. Her personal blog is at the bottom of her spark page and she's a saint! Stacy aka MADEIT3 is a great inspiration and motivator and she is from rural Kansas. Rita lives in Billings and Linda lives in Havre, so you have some teammates from Montana.
We want to hear all about what you see and hear where you walk in your part of the world. We're waiting for autumn leave updates and first snowflake updates. Hope you'll join in the geography lesson! There are 23 new members since Saturday so I can't fill you in much more than that until they start posting. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do for you! Glad to have you along on this journey!

***Make short term goals. They will help reaching your long term goals manageable. If you look under “My Trackers” click on “Other Goals” and you can set your short term and long term goals. Sparkpeople offers some for you to choose from or you can create your own.

***Try using the nutritional tracker. It really makes it easier to stay within your daily nutritional goals. This can be found under “My Trackers”.

***Check out Challenge Central. ***Do exercises that you enjoy. Working out can be fun.
