Hi I am Samantha, I was born three months premature on a Native American reservation in Montana, I am half German & half Native American. I was born not breathing and hence left with a tiny limp in one of my legs but no damage whatsoever to my cognitive faculties. I am so grateful and therefore love to exercise most days! It's been awesome to be part of Sparkpeople for almost 4 years now.
I am a 30 years old and an Erzieherin (or qualified Kindergarten teacher) in Essen Germany---I work with bilingual children, some of whom are also in a Special Education program. This job literally has me on my feet all day and is full of all the challenges one can imagine working with children/families in an extremely bureaucratic/work obsessed society :) My work keeps me alert and Sparkpeople keeps me accountable!
Be 90% vegan up until weight loss goal is met this year. Then perhaps 100%.
Finally get to to goal within the next couple of months, re-analyse what comes next (including surgery.)
Try to get my troublesome Native American belly flat without surgery (though I am considering it.)
I am a size 12 pants or smaller (USA) and when I go back to the USA for Brother's wedding in October would like to be few sizes down---not sure what I am at the moment, likely less than 12, so this will be a great surprise with hard work :) European sizing is all messed up---I won't even bother.
Deal with work related stress productively.
Get my *academic* German up to point where I can take the teachers examination in one year's time.
Be a really healthy bride for one very lucky German guy :)
Reward: When I finally get to 150 I will order a Vegan Chocolate Shakeology sample. When I meet goal I will order a bag!
.Turbo Fire 3x-5x a week.
.Brazil Butt lift 3x-5x a week.
. Precor 3-6x a week (at BF's house)
I walk constantly, that's the good thing about living and working in Western Europe. We rely a lot less on cars and are always running for trains, buses and trams.. As a Kindergarten teacher I am constantly on my feet and so busy sometimes I forget to eat (which is not good, I know)
I am fanatical about travel! :P I grew up working class and always wanted to travel so I work hard and save to be able to backpack in different countries. So far I have been to:
I just finished my MA of Secondary Special Education in May 2011 which allowed me to move to Australia for two years. One day when all my student loan debt is paid off (har har!) I'd like to get another MA in Bilingual Education focusing on Spanish & German.
I am a dedicated, but novice teacher you can read about that here:
Music: Silverchair, System of a Down (+Serj solo,) Rammstein, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, birds of Tokyo, Darren Hayes, Incubus, Gwen Stefani, Pharell, and so many more...
Season: Fall (that's why I love being an October birthday too!)
TV: Mad Men, Sopranos, Simpsons...vintage tv...
My two favourite film genres are horror and religious---seriously!

Any news regarding the visas?

Thanks for the comment on my blog!
I emailed the principal and declined the teaching position. Yes, it is in my field, but at this point in my life (I'll be 24 on Sunday), I love the flexibility in my schedule that working at VS gives me.
I have more room for advancement there than I would teaching; I'm full-time there now, and I achieved that in less than 6 months with the company. There are brand/category managers, assistant store managers, store managers, corporate jobs, etc that are always possibilities if I stick with it.
My former and current store manager are both in their 40's and still love what they do there :)
I read your most recent blog, and I can't even imagine the stress you're under right now!! I hope it all turns out well for you, and I pray that it all gets sorted soon!
