Change

Time for change, and embracing it. The doctor's report was better yesterday, 12/11, 09. My blood sugar is lower and so are my triglicerides and HDL. Good. All good. I am moving, slowly, in the right direction. And, I am doing it in a way that is sustainable for me. Inch by inch, I am gaining strength, and with that, determination to do well, and get my health back.

My Goals:
Lose weight so that I do not have to take medication for diabetes. Be more healthy.

My Program:
I'm going to a gym, three days a week, and using sense, perhaps for the first time in many years, about what goes into my mouth. I am drinking water, and PAYING ATTENTION!

Personal Information:
I live in the Tucson area, and love the desert. Always have. I love the smell of the air, and how much each living thing really wants to be alive, and the interesting forms into which they adapt themselves, to survive in the harsh environment.

Other Information:
I love weaving, beading, writing, silk painting, art museums, craft galleries, good books, good food, good conversation, and good friends, and my family, not necessarily in that order!

I'm sorry to tell you that the Ipod classic does not have a pedometer. The only one that has one is the Nano. I don't know about the Iphone. It might have one. In my opinion a pedometer is the greatest investment you can make. I find it so motivating to see how much I walk! I used to wear a pedometer all the time and even got my doctor to wear one. I really should not have bought the new Ipod and should have waited till my old one broke. But the new one has so many cool features I just could not resist. It has a radio, a fantastic pedometer which keeps a history, tells you how much time you walked and how many calories you burned, it does unfortunately not tell you the miles, of course it plays music, books and other stuff. It also has the camera I'm still trying to figure out. It has a bunch of other features also. But the ones I listed are the ones I use. I should learn how to use the contacts section. Then I have a "phone book" with me.

Hi San,
I always love hearing from you. Matter of fact I meant to stop by your page if I did not see any movement in the near future, just to make sure you're still keeping on keeping on emoticon I did my exercise for the day and am allowing myself to rest for the rest of the day. So I'll be on SP and may give my Nano video another try. I feel centered enough to were it wont upset me if it does not work. LOL. Maybe it's not centered but just plain worn out. I walked 12 miles this morning. I think I'll sleep very well tonight. Thanks for the compliment on the fitness minutes. Unfortunately they don't reflect what I'm actually doing. They only count up to 2 hours a day. I'm not sure why.
I hope you're enjoying the beautiful day!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Mt. Lemmon was so much fun. We will try to go back next week, depending on street condition. We will yet get some cute pictures of the dogs in the snow. That hike certainly wore me out. But it was worth it. I never thought I'd turn into a hiker!

Thanks so much for the sunshine. It has been so cold and cloudy here that it actually changed my attitude to see it.

Thanks for your comment! Yes that would be Riverfront Park on Lambert! It's a quite park, not very big but the views are nice! Good luck on your classes, I hope they really help you out a lot! emoticon
