Weight has been an issue all my life. This is my journey to make it less of an issue.
I want to lose weight, but more than that, I want to be healthy. I do not want food to rule my life and mind anymore. Losing weight quickly is great, but I would rather lose it slowly through sustainable life changes, and then keep it off.
I am recording everything I eat, and really working at keeping all my nutrients within the ranges they should be. I have been really good at eating high-fiber and high-protein breakfasts (bean and cheese breakfast tacos are my friends!). I am trying to exercise more, but am not doing so well on that.
My name is Lisa, and I live in San Antonio with my wonderful, delightful husband. I am goofy and silly, and love pretty much all animals -- even the creepy crawly ones. I don't even kill spiders! Random fact about me: I had stitches in my middle toe on my wedding day due to a car accident that morning.
Television: House, Dollhouse, Flash Forward, Criminal Minds, BritComs, West Wing, Lone Gunmen, Coupling, Wild America, Mystery Diagnosis, and so many more.
Books: I'm a bibliophile. The Time Traveler's Wife is a modern classic. Spider Robinson is a genius, and I scour bookstores for his work. I go through Heinlein books like candy. My Side of the Mountain. Tolkien. Nonfiction books about medical and mental matters. When Rabbit Howls is a powerful book about multiple personalities. And I am also a devoted Dave Barry fan. All this is the very tippy-tip of a very large, deep iceberg.
Music: Almost anything, but I don't really like most rap or hip-hop. But I can't stand it when people decide to share their music with the world via boom cars. It is so, so rude.
