Saying goodbye to being overweight!

My name is Tammy and I am 32 years old. I joined this site March 28th of 2011 after spending a good portion of my 30th birthday being upset with myself and how I looked. My Program:
I want healthy choices to become a habit, not something I have to consciously choose. I want to look fabulous in my wedding dress in July of 2014. I want a sexy, slim toned body now before it gets really hard to work this weight off.

Exercise :
Zumba at least 3 times a week
Strength training at least 2 times a week
Swimming at least twice a month (facility is half an hour from here)

Main reward! to be under 200 lbs for the first time in 12 years! To be happy, healthy and have alot more energy. We want to travel when we retire and I don't want to be too out of shape to explore the world.

For every 10 lbs lost fresh bouquet of flowers and/or bath salts/bubble bath and a smile at myself in the mirror so I can say " you ARE doing this"

Turbo Fire is a really fun cardio / strength-training workout. The program comes in a neat little box with a compilation of discs, some light workout stretchy bands, and a book that helps you with some meal ideas to give you the most energy without going crazy on calories. Today is Day 7 for me and I've loved every single workout so far.

Sneaking in a workout is a great idea! How little is the little one?

There was a cheese spread at the get-together on Saturday, too, and let me tell you, I think I may have snarled at people when they got too near. It was absolutely delicious and I definitely had way more of it than I should have. Even so, I don't feel guilty about it because...

I'VE LOST TWO POUNDS! My official weigh-in isn't until Friday but last week I was at 181 and this morning I was tipping the scale just under 179, so go me! It's really nice to know that the hard work pays off.

Are you tracking your meals at all? I find I don't EVER see good results until I obsess over what I'm eating. Every morning I take ten minutes and calculate my ENTIRE day, including both the Turbo Fire workout and what I'm going to be eating, and it makes it VERY easy to stick to a meal plan that way.

As far as feeling down is concerned, I'm really sorry to hear that. The job market really sucks these days and hearing about it from you just makes me even more grateful for my own, grievances that it may cause and all. A coworker is getting married this summer as well and she's experiencing some of the same gloom you are. You're absolutely right to channel that frustration towards your workout, though - turn the negative energy into positive energy and before you know it, you'll be like, "Pft, I don't care that we can't afford a bigger cake, I look FUH-REAKING GREAT!"

The weight loss calendar that you and your friend are now using sounds like a really fun (and cute) way to track everything. I might do the same if I can make my way to a dollar store and pick some stuff up. Tracking on SP is quick and easy and all, but it's not the straight-forward reinforcement that tangible tracking is - you don't have to be in front of a computer to see your progress this way! Great idea!

I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. My elbow has been giving me some grief. I have been having issues with it and the bone in my forearm for quite some time now - if I move it the wrong way at the wrong speed, I get a sharp pain that shoots up my arm. The pessimist in me thinks that I have carpal tunnel syndrome or something like that but after doing a quick search on the interwebs, that's not where the pain would be if I had it. In any case, I learned the range of motion in that arm and that making a fist helps to keep control of my movements, so no more elbow pain for me! Isn't it funny how exercising with your sore shoulder made it feel better? I love it! Just goes to show you that the body likes to move!

Don't feel bad about missing that exercise day - at least you had an excuse! Yesterday I had planned on waking up and getting my 55 minute workout video in but when I woke up, my dad was leaving an hour earlier so my entire day was out of whack. I didn't get to exercise and I went out with my boyfriend and his friends in the evening. A wise dinner selection aside, I ate far more than I should have (crackers and cheese spread will forever be the bane of my existence). Still, I opted for a house salad with my chicken so that was a definite win there!

I'm about to lace up my trainers and get my butt groovin' to Turbo Fire, DAY 6!

The holidays are always difficult when considering temptation. It's just so easy to indulge because your friends are around, your family is around, everyone's having a good time and there's ALWAYS warm, ooey-gooey delicious things lying around. It took insane amounts of will power to not eat an entire pumpkin pie to myself.

My Christmas was great although I was sick. It was just me and my mother and a close friend of mine. We watched all three Lord of the Rings, haha.

New Years, on the other hand, was super fantastic. I have been dating someone since late October 2013 and he invited me to go to a house party with he and some friends. I was so nervous about it but it turned out there was nothing at all to be worried about - his friends and I got along really, really well and we spent the night talking, eating, playing video games, and having a really great time.

Hoorah! I am so glad that one of my buddies is still around. Welcome back to you! :-)

I see that your wedding is drawing nearer. That's so exciting! My coworker's wedding is this year, too, so she's coming to my mother's dance studio with me for classes and choreography. It's nice having someone in the office who's at least slightly interested in getting back into shape.

How have you been? I hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year's Eve.
