Hello 2013! I've decided to re-write my intro seeing as I am starting again on my journey to health and personal happiness - that's not to say i'm unhappy right now! I am a very positive person with a truly blessed life, but I am not satisfied with my self - the external me does not represent the internal me and it's about time I fixed that!

I was always a very active child, played all the sports under the sun and did well in everything I tried. But some not so healthy weight loss habits in my teens eventually wrecked my health and caused my subsequent weight gain. Starting university saw me leave all the team sports I used to love at high school and start drinking and eating rubbish (i had no idea how to cook!). The only thing stopping me piling on the pounds was the lack of a car meaning i cycled everywhere and kept some balance. I got a car in my 2nd year however and the weight started piling on from there!

I never used to weigh myself. I remember weighing myself when I was 19 y.o and weighing in at 10st/140lbs/63kgs. I HATED the way i looked back then, but would give anything to be back at that weight now!! Since then i know my weight has fluctuated a lot, but didn't actually weigh myself until I started the gym in Sydney 7 years later and weighed in at 13st/182lbs/83kgs. At that time i was hitting the gym hard, my personal trainer was a professional body builder and i LOVED how hard she pushed me - she said she gave me workouts that had made grown men cry, and i lapped them up! (the picture of me in the black and white dress with my boyfriend to the left is Sydney, 13st). But i had to move 3 months later (to get a second year visa for Australia i had to work on a farm for 3 months, so no more gym and trainer for me!).

After that me and my new boyfriend ( a chef...yup, good and bad for me!) moved to Perth and settled down for a year. We made a fair bit of money and used to spend it going out for dinner and drinks...queue a fair few pounds piling on! But you'll never guess how much - by the time we left Oz about a year later i weighed in at 18st/252lbs/114kgs...oh my goodness!! That's a massive gain of 5st/70lbs/31.8kgs...blimey :0/ Over a year that's an average gain of 1.35lbs a week!

I'd like to point out this is the first time i've written a weight-gain timeline like this, and i am shocking myself!

Since leaving Australia and moving back to the UK I've lost a little weight - mainly because we have no money and can't afford a car or so many nights out haha!! Today (15th Feb 2013) i weigh 17st6lbs/244lbs/110kgs. Tomorrow i hope to weigh a little less ;0)

My goal is to set achievable targets - I know now I am very much all or nothing, but that clearly hasn't led to success so I must learn to PACE MYSELF!! My end goal is to lose 100lbs (i like round numbers ;0). My achievable target is 2lbs per week. So if all goes to plan I'll be here for the next 50 weeks living a successful life and making lots of lovely SparkFriends along the way ;0)

So, by 02/02/2014 i should be weighing in at a much more satisfied - not to mention healthy and energetic - 10st4/144lbs/65kgs...wish me luck! :0)

    Yeah I have bad knees as well partly from being overweight and partly from my figure skating days. I got through Shred tonight after I did a Rockin Body workout...doing a workout before it actually helped alot because I felt more warmed up and not so stiff. I still did some modifications..I didn't do the lunges I only did the curls and then instead of the side lunges I did arnold presses. I still burned almost 300 calories so I consider it a success. :)

    Hey! Shred is going good. Today was day 7 but even though yesterday went great today my knee started hurting and I couldn't even get through the first circuit. I'm hoping it's just a one day thing from weather or something so I can get back to Day 8 tomorrow. Otherwise I'm going to have to do some catch up work and it will push my end date back. It is totally hard but you can do it! Pilates was hard for me the one time I tried it but that was years ago. I love yoga! hope you are having a great week :)

    Luckily we havent had a real snow yet. Its been threatening, been cold & had a little flurry action but nothing too crazy.

    Yeah...the fasting thing I am not a 100% about. When my blood sugar drops & I get hungry I seriously turn into a b*tch monster...hahaha. I have been doing pretty good between 1000-1200 cals & even went for sushi(with rice!) last night before seeing my 2 lb loss this morning.
    Now its a challenge on how long this amazing streak can last. I am kind of dreading the holidays as my boyfriends parents don't exactly follow a very healthy lifestyle.... trying to maintain a good willpower against treats until them so maybe it wont hit as hard. fingers crossed.
