Something to share...

Hey, you all. I am 25 year old girl from Eastern Europe. My entire life I have been overweight. I remember myself being a kid and always feeling bigger than all my schoolmates (even though I wasn't that much bigger). So living with all my fears and worries and lack of confidence led me to being obese. I'm emotional eater and when I feel unhappy, worried, stressed, I eat. And most of the time I feel like that (that might also be a symptom of depression). So eating my stress resulted in me weighing at 93 kg (205 lb) on my 17th birthday. For 164 cm girl this is clearly not ok. I was always feeling tired, didn't want to do anything. Then I discovered Atkins diet and in one month I lost 10 kg. I felt much better, more active and got involved in several organisations. With more things to do and less time to feel sorry about myself in several months I lost another 5 kg. At 78 kg (172 lb) I felt very comfortable. I think, too comfortable. I stopped losing weight. Then I graduated from high school and enrolled into university. And no, no freshman 15 for me. Actually, I lost couple kilos more. So the lightest I was at 74 kg (163 lb). But then I fell in love. Unsuccessfully. During good times I was losing weight and during bad times I was eating eating eating and gaining. At one time I was back to 90 kg but then yo-yo'ed back to 80 kg. So up and down, up and down. Just recently I finally got over that boy... but... fell in love with someone else once again... once again unsuccessfully. So now I am trying to deal with my depression and feelings and I am trying to finally got my life together and start living healthier life.
I know that I can do that. I know I am strong enough and clever enough to be able to be the best version of myself. And I appreciate any help and support I can get.

Hey! So sorry I'm just now responding from your post in June. I clearly don't check my profile as often as I should (mostly just use the nutrition tracker). I completely understand your dilemma with high stress and long hours. I don't have a traditional firm job, but instead freelance, so I don't deal with that daily, but at times I do. The only thing I've been able to come with is bringing limited amounts of healthy food to work with you, then you have no other options, and bring no cash for buying anything! I understand the stress issue as well... they tell you to exercise not eat to control stress but who feels like doing that after putting in a 10 hour (or longer) day? As cliched as it sounds, I find group exercise works best for me, because I get to know the people in the class and look forward to seeing them at the end of the day. It's really hard but it looks like you are making great progress so congrats! Sorry I have no better solutions! Thanks for finding me! What area of law are you in?
