My name is Eve. The older you get the harder to lose! I have spent my entire life as a slim, healthy woman. Then at the age of 50 my husband at the time (now deceased) and I started our own business and started eating all our meals in restaurants. My slim, trim 125 zoomed up to 150 -- seemingly overnight. I can truthfully say this happened right before my eyes without me seeing it. Yes, even as I bought larger clothing sizes it didn't seem to sink in -- in fact, as the years went by I became used to the new weight and ignored it. As I reached my 60's my activity level went down, but I never changed my eating habits to balance it. By the time I turned 69 I decided it was time to take action and in Dec. '07 I joined SP. It's been a learning experience, but I wanted to go slow and steady, and did just that.

For me, it's not a DIET, it's a new Healthy Lifestyle, a change in your habits and activity level and is something that will be with you forever! At the present time I'm hoping to reach goal in 2012. It is now Nov. 1 as I edit this text, and I'm 10 pounds away. I could make it if I pushed hard -- time will tell.

I am staying positive and looking for the best in life, it's the only way to stay young and healthy. It's wonderful that people of any age can attain that, like that elusive fountain of youth, and that's my goal in life!

By the way, if you're looking for friends -- you're in the right place! EVERYONE on here is a friend!

My Goals:
I've raised the bar on my goal, now want to get to 125 lbs. WooHoo!

My Program:
I monitor very closely what I eat, I am staying on a healthy food plan. I know that fats/sugars are bad for me so those get eaten in very small portions. I don't cut anything out of my diet completely, just limit the portion.

I exercise 3 to 4 times per week, walk every day and drink water always!

Personal Information:
Originally from MN, have lived in CA & NV --now AZ I got married Jan. 2011 and live in Glendale, AZ with my DH, my Scottie, Amber, and we have a Tabby cat named Luci. Our summers are in the mountains about 75 miles from Phoenix. My hobbies are writing, painting with acrylic and I love interior decorating.

Other Information:
OK, I'm a senior citizen and loving it. I never thought 75 could feel this good. I'm looking forward to the "rest of my life."

Thanks for the support on my blog about feeling horribly unattractive. It is hard for me to be happy at this weight with myself, but there are a lot of things to be happy about and at least this is something that I CAN change.

Funny you mentioned about getting your eggs back so you could hide them again. I do that, too!! They find them, get the goodies out of them and give them back for next year! hehe
DH doesn't feel too hot, but has better times than others. So here's what we know, he has an infection with inflammation ( sometimes hear the word abcess) real near his spine (@ 7L) . I thought it was on the back side of his spine and I couldn't figure out why they didn't just do the biopsy, but it's on the chest side! Very tricky to get to! They keep going around and around and saying the danger isn't worth the prize. I do understand that! We sure don't want to paralyze him!!! Now they're talking to cardiac doctors whether they could go in from the front! UGH!! What a worry!
Oh yeah, we had a pretty nice Easter b/c we had DH on Skype, so he was sort of with us for dinner! They passed around the IPAD and everybody talked to him 2 or 3 times each throughout dinner! hehe It Was a nice time, though it could have been nicer had he been completely with us!
Easter Sunday with the family started out very sad, though. DD's cat Mr. Binx, passed on Saturday night. SIL just left him where he died till Sunday, dug a very deep hole and then the family had a funeral for him. The girls (4&9) picked wild flowers and azalea blooms and after we all said our "good-byes" threw in the flowers on top of him. Most of us cried our eyes out. He was such a sweet kitty boy. For me, I like to think he's at Rainbow Bridge with my sweet Bianca kitty and DD's MIL's kitty Nermal, waiting for us and having fun together.
Thanks for dropping by my page. Please keep praying for my DH. Pray the staff finds a safe way to find out the best way to treat him and then "getter done"!!
Thanks, my sweet friend! (((HUGS))) (((HUGS))) (((HUGS)))

PS Please walk 10,000 steps for me, huh? It's just not happening these days for me. Love to your sweet critters!!

I've been doing pretty good so far, dairy is a bigger problem for me than processed food, even using my doctor's definition. I still am using creamer in my coffee, just switching to tea a couple of times a day so the amount at the end of the day is less. Either yogurt or cottage cheese with some fruit is something we were having for breakfast fairly regularly and I don't really think I'd like it much with plain yogurt. I've been struggling for so long though that I really don't mind making some changes, especially if they work.

OUCH !! That's a lot for a plumber to come out. Hope it isn't something that will be a major fix and a lot more $$$. emoticon

Good luck! The food sounds a little strange at first but I love the recipes. The broccoli soup is yummy as are so many other things. Feel free to browse my blogs (from Jan 19, 2013 and then again Feb 1st 2014) to see pics of how fixed my meals. I love the veggies and salads - it's what I eat most of the time.
