76 Years Old ~~ Still Going Strong!

My word for 2015: Adaptability
Theme for March: "May the Luck o'the Irish be with you!"

My name is Eve. The older you get the harder to lose! I have spent my entire life as a slim, healthy woman. Then at the age of 50 my slim, trim 124 zoomed up to 150 -- and while that may seem like nothing to some of you; I am only 5'2" tall, and it happened seemingly overnight. My word for 2015: Adaptability

I can truthfully say this happened right before my eyes without me seeing it. In fact, as the years went by I became used to the new weight and ignored it. Little by little the scale found its way up to 162. By the time I turned 69 I decided it was time to take action and in Dec. '07 I joined SP. It's been a learning experience, but I wanted to go slow and steady, and did just that.

For me, it's not a DIET, it's a new Healthy Lifestyle, a change in your habits and activity level and is something that will be with me forever! At the present time I am close to my goal, but even at this weight, I'm not unhappy.

I am staying positive and try to adapt to the changes that come into my life; just looking for the best in life, it's the only way to stay young and healthy. It's wonderful that people of any age can attain it ~~like that elusive fountain of youth, and that's my goal in life! Remember, "life is what you make it!"

By the way, if you're looking for friends -- you're in the right place! EVERYONE on here is a friend and we most likely have the same attitude about healthy living!

Hi Eve, sounds like you had a fun day! I actually had some times out with friends the last 2 days before so today was kind of restful day for me, except for some house cleaning and a walk in the afternoon. It was beautiful today! Tonight I'm finishing some laundry and tomorrow after services, I'm supposed to see another friend.. maybe go to a craft festival. I love this time of year when all the craft and music festivals slowly start up again. emoticon emoticon

Ok! note to self: don't move to AZ!!! I don't do heat very well - I can't imagine 118 degrees! Wow! emoticon oh my, what if you had a power outage on one of those days.... no air conditioning? emoticon You better believe I'd be praying up a storm to cool things down! emoticon

Re the rain, I'm taking it back! emoticon I'm like you with that too, though... on rainy days, I love to cozy up with a book... it's so relaxing.

Hi Eve, thanks for commenting on my wintry backyard blog! I agree - it would appeal to Ansel Adams! In winter, it can be cold and kind of lonely at times, except for a lot of wildlife visits, but it IS always beautiful. However, having grown up and lived in a noisy city environment for most of my life, this place was heaven when I moved here. Been here almost 15 yrs and I still love it. Plus when I'm working in an office, I'm usually running around at a fast pace so I always looked forward to a quiet relaxing sanctuary!

By the way, I LOVE your sparkpage background photo.. that looks gorgeous! Is that your garden? emoticon
