For the first half of my life, I was slim and athletic. I was no super model, but I was strong, healthy, confident, and content with my body. As I got older and busier, I became more sedentary; and I gained weight which I successfully lost in the early 2000s.

Unfortunately, massive stress, insane eating habits, and a thyroid condition resulted in a regain of the weight. The addition of a fractured foot that curtailed exercise for months set me over the edge to my heaviest weight in 2012.

My goal is simple. To be able to look in the mirror and recognize the person looking back at me. I don't need to look 20 years old, but I want my old identity back - the slim athlete. Today is the day that I take back my identity.

March 17, 2013 - I wrote the text above on Dec. 9/12. Since then, I have lost 30 lbs. 20 more to go. I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog "Where It All Started". You weren't kidding! Our stories are just about the same!! However, I never really forgot to eat (hypoglycemia prevented that), but I did go through stages where I didn't want to take the time to eat. Thank you so much for the encouraging words.

Thank you so much for your comment on my blog, I can't tell you how much it touched my heart and made me feel not alone. As much as I would never want anyone to go through what and how I feel towards food it is at the same time good to have people who know how I feel. Again thank you so much for your love and support!
