I joined SparkPeople in late 2012 because I just wanted to keep myself as healthy as I could and was pretty sure I hadn't been taking as good of care of myself as I should have been. Well, here I am ... now 65, in the best health of my entire life, and more active than ever. Stronger in all ways than ever. Am I proud? You bet I am. Am I thankful? You darned bet I am. I would never have had the resources needed to redirect my lifelong habits had it not been for SP. For me, this journey ...
For me, this journey has been a breeze. Yes, I've learned to love a few foods that I would never have imagined even trying ... and every little step has led me to greater confidence, inner peace, self pride, stronger commitment, the list just goes on. Thank you, SP, and all the wonderful members who have given support and understanding along the way.

My Goals:
My #1 goal right now is to simply tone up my body after a lifetime of disregard. I do think I'm making progress and that inspires me to keep on working at it.

My Program:
Learning to track my food and activity have been absolutely indispensable!
It didn't take long before I realized just what I had actually been doing to myself. Tracking keeps me accountable and THAT is exactly what I need.

Personal Information:
Born in Washington state in 1949. My father was a logger and worked for Weyerhaeuser Timber Co until he retired at 62. Mother was primarily a homemaker but also worked part-time until she retired at 62. Maybe that's why I also decided to retire at 62 after a career in bookkeeping/banking. It was fun.
After three failed marriages, I was determined to stay single until I met my husband, Jack. He had the same marriage history as I ... we just clicked and are now going to celebrate our 24th anniversary 12/1/2014. When I think of it, I still can't believe it! We enjoy our 28 pound 8 year old Schitzu/something mix. He, of course, is spoiled rotten and is an absolute riot to play with! He and I walk every day (unless it's too hot, cold, wet or icy). And he stays outside with me when I'm working in the yard just to keep an eye on me, I think.

Thanks for the plant info, I thought that might be the case.

I found the soil to heavy to work so I'm sunning myself while it's so nice out........gotta top up the tan while I can- hate the "pale but interesting" look emoticon

"Whatever you want in life, start today.
Not tomorrow - today.
Let it be a small beginning - a tiny beginning.
Your happiness depends on starting today - every day."
