I had a recreational accident years ago and have not been allowed to return to my field. Of course other assorted personal problems never help. My stress eating habit that developed is causing problems with arthritis and high blood pressure. I didn't realize I was so heavy since I was only weighed at annual neurologist visits the last few years. I am 5'2.5".

I have a "feral" cat colony and a smaller group from the colony that I take care of that provide a daily workout for me. I also have a number of potted plants and keep a number of areas planted. The cat colony is older than I am since there used to be a servicetown there that I remember when I was younger on my grandparents property that is now part of an LLC.

I grew up in No. Va., and lived in Vienna, Leesburg and Page Valley, just outside of Luray. I have an uncle living in Warranton, and another uncle living in Rileyville. VA is beautiful, but too cold! I live in Sanford, Florida now.

Hi, I am in Va and most of my time is spent taking care of my animals (I have more than most people) and doing stuff with my plants (including some wild flowers I am trying to protect). Of course there is the usual housework, but right now our 50 YO house built by my father, two of my mothers brothers and some contractors my father knew and some of his employees when I was very little is having some problems that need to be repaired since there is water damage happening.

The first camera I really learned to use (I didn't get to use it until I was in high school fortunately) was a Kodak retina. I need more participation points to get honors standings so I joined yearbook and the stage crew for the SR production my Junior year. I liked them so well I did them the next year too even though I had already met my point requirement by the time limit the year before. That is how I discovered I really liked photography.

Next I was given a used Canon AE-1 because it had some damage that resulted in no auto focus or automatic settings. I continued learning photography done on manual settings. When I got a digital camera, also a Canon but there was no way I could afford a dSLR, I settled for the C1 which does handle some filters and close up lenses at least. I did most of my digital photography using manual settings. I guess old habits die hard. Because of other problems (and my memory problems) I don't even know were my stuff is. Hopefully I will find it sometime. I don't get enough disability benefits to afford replacing them. That is why I have never submitted anything even though I follow the projects since they are interesting.
