Baby Steps

I found SP while looking for a nutrition calculator and was amazed and grateful to discover that it's so much more than that.

I know from experience that making small, consistent positive changes snowballs into an avalanche of change. I didn't know that I would need to pay attention to every day if I wanted to hang on to the benefits of those changes. I didn't know that nothing is or can be allowed to be more important than health. Not studying. Not chores. Not even family ...

Work on a step in Beck Diet Solution
Do at least 10 minutes of exercise.

Personal Information:
I'm from Seattle Washington and I LOVE to hike. Love, love, love to hike!

Other Information:
I have juvenile diabetes which puts an extra wrinkle into exercise, like checking blood sugar in the middle of a long run and carrying juice.

I'm midway through nursing school where I am probably the oldest nursing student ever.

Hello Turtle Friend,
Well, my first full day off was today. Here's what I did: up at 5:45 for prayer, out by 7 a.m. for a 30 minute walk. Quick shower and then to church for mass. Afterwards, drove to the next town to meet a girlfriend to shop the library book sale and have a late breakfast. Back home to work on some leftover financial paperwork, made a few calls, and here I am on Spark. If every day is like today, it's going to be an awesome retirement. emoticon

Thanks for commenting on my page the other day! Yesterday I cleaned a corner of the room I have been meaning to clean for awhile and today I cleaned some tools I set aside after a project. Baby steps! Especially on a day so hot! emoticon emoticon emoticon
