I am very happily married with three furry children of the K-9 variety. We moved to the Seattle area about a year and a half ago. I am college educated and I just graduated from cosmetology school. Along with my new career, I am aiming for a new, healthy lifestyle.

I am not only doing this for myself but also for my husband. His doctor recommended the South Beach Diet to get his triglycerides and cholesterol down. We successfully did this for about a year and saw big changes in his blood tests and the way our clothing fit. Unfortunately, when we put our house up for sale, we didn’t want to dirty the kitchen with a lot of cooking so we got almost completely off track. Now that we’ve settled, it is time to get back on track. I find that Spark People is an EXCELLENT tool for tracking and staying on track.

My Goals:
My goals are to loose 2 pounds per week, read success stories to help stay motivated and cook a new, healthy recipe once a week.

My Program:
In the past, I have had a lot of trouble with portion control. This time around, EVERYTHING will be portioned out as it is made and packaged up for easy meals. I am also taking Alli for a little extra help and to keep me on the straight and narrow. And, the nutrition tracker is a must.

I am aiming to start small with the exercise. (Baby Steps.) I plan to do 10 either 10 minutes of Wii Boxing or 10 minutes on the exercise bike each day.

Hi, I found you on the Washington team page. I've not yet joined it...but probably will soon. I'm a transplant too. Spent most of my adult life in Oregon and it will always be home. Washington is beautiful though. I'm just southeast of Bellingham.

Welcome to 100 Plus Club! You’ll find plenty of support and encouragement here. No question is too stupid to ask, so post away and we’ll all put in our two cents worth. Utilize all the tools SP has to offer. I find tracking my food and exercise most helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey!
