New knees, New Me :-)

I have tried everything to lose weight. I have battled for years with my size and usually end up gaining back more than I lost. I don't have much positive support in losing the weight. I have wonderful, loving people in my life, but they love me as I am and I hear a lot of "there's no reason to lose weight, I love you as you are" from the best of them or "You never keep the weight off, so why bother" from the rest. Nearly 30 years of needing total joint replacements that we thought were not ...

Nearly 30 years of needing total joint replacements that we thought were not possible (not going into the reasons why, they're in the "need to let go" category) really contributed to the weight gains.

12-2015
I had both knees replaced 3 years ago. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. Now, I just need to get myself back in gear, get the weight off again, and keep it off this time!

I will be going back to school in a few weeks, and while most people say "don't try to do too many things at once, you will fail" that doesn't work for me. I tend to do better when I'm actually doing several things at once. It's a momentum thing for me. If I slip on one thing while I'm working on several, I will pull myself back in line faster. If I slip while I'm only doing one thing, I give up. There are good and bad things about knowing yourself this well.

So, here we go...again...

I have been almost 200lbs at 5'1" and then (did it the right way) lost weight/got lean and down to 108lbs. I lost my mojo but Im getting it back! I'm in my mid-30's so health is big on my mind too. We can do this. Dont give up! Let's help each other!

Met with an old friend today... owner operator. He says the rates are really going up due to lack of drivers due to regulations being harder. So if prices go up, truckers will be blamed and they will blame it on regulations! He thinks this year will be the best since the seventies. But he plans on quitting trucking when electronic logs are forced on everyone. Interesting to talk to him.

Then the snow started, and we had two full boxes of apples to give away so DH drove us all over the hills sliding but got them gave away and a few for us. Damaged boxes from the driver, just one apple squished in each one. Everyone loves apples so it was a fun afternoon. And getting home in one piece rather good, too.

I like your goals! To be under 200 is foremost for me, but I had a lot of slow years while I learn what works for me. Joining a challenge really helps but took me 3 times before I got into the groove at long last.
